In the name of God amen Francis Gomeldon formerly a captain in a Regiment of Foot in Ireland lately commanded
by the honourable Sir John Bruse Hope being of sound mind memory and understanding do make my last will and
testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I give devise and bequeath unto my nephew Thomas Lake
of the city of Salisbury his Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns respectively all my Right Title Interest
Profit Share proportion and Estate of in and to the Bottle Glass House commonly called Musheroom Glass House
situate near Newcastle upon Tyne and in the county of Northumberland and of in and to the Lands Tenements Workhouses
and other the Appurtenances to the said Glasshouse belonging or thereunto in any wise appurtaining which I have in
right of my wife Jane Gomeldon otherwise Middleton
I also give and bequeath unto my good and true friend William Prater of the aforesaid city of Salisbury Gentleman
and John Staples of the same place brasier and their heirs and the survivor of them the sum of Three Hundred pounds
upon the trusts and to the uses following (that is to say) upon trust to pay unto or suffer my dear Sister Elizabeth
Lake to receive the Interest thereof for and during the term of her natural life and also yearly and every year to
permit and suffer my said sister Elizabeth Lake to receive and take out of the said principal sum of three hundred
pounds over and above the interest and produce thereof for and during the said term of her natural life such further
and other sum or sums of money as shall be requisite yearly to augment the interest and produce thereof to the sum
of twenty pounds in case my aforesaid Nephew Thomas Lake do not pay to my said sister Elizabeth Lake the Yearly Sum
of Twenty pounds for the said term of her natural life as is hereinafter by me bequeathed and from and after the
decease of my said Sister upon this further trust to pay the said sum of Three Hundred Pounds or so much thereof
as shall remain after deducting thereout the aforesaid annuity or yearly payment of twenty pounds to my sister as
aforesaid unto my said Nephew Thomas Lake his executors administrators or assigns.
I also give and bequeath unto my neice Elizabeth Lake the sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to her by my said
nephew Thomas Lake within twelve months next after my decease.
I also give and bequeath unto my said nephew Thomas Lake all the Books Pictures and other my Goods and Effects of
whatever nature or Kind soever now in my Lodgings in Mr Morane's House in Dublin in Ireland. I do hereby also give
devise and bequeath unto my said Nephew Thomas Lake all my ready money plate jewels arrears of pay arrears of
annuities and all the Rest Residue and Remainder of all such lands tenements and hereditaments Estates Goods
Chattels and Effects and all my real and personal estate of what nature kind soever and wheresoever whereof I
shall die possessed seized of or in any manner intitled to.
My will and meaning further is that my said nephew Thomas Lake shall and do yearly and every year well and truly
pay or cause to be paid the aforesaid yearly annuity of twenty pounds to my sister Elizabeth Lake for and during
the aforesaid term of her natural life at two half yearly payments the first payment to commence and be paid within
six months after my decease which said yearly annuity of twenty pounds I do hereby give and bequeath unto her for
and during her natural life and do hereby appoint the aforesaid Willism Prater and John Staples Trustees of Overseers
to see the same performed and I do hereby for their pains give to each of them the sum of five pounds and I do hereby
nominate and appoint my said Nephew Thomas Lake executor of this my last will and testament revoking all former will
and wills by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and fifty.
