The Brighton Festival 2001 saw our new adaptation of Graham Greene's classic story of mob violence and the tragedy of young love lost amongst the background of 1930's Brighton. Taking many influences from both the book and the famous Boulting brothers film, our adaptation concentrated on the darker, sinister, thriller elements of the story. A multi-media piece , we used back-projections and early film footage of Brighton to re-create the essence of the underworld of the town, coupled together with film/video footage of other familiar Brighton locations such as the Pier, the seafront and the racecourse. "The End is Nigh for Kolley Kibber" A large scale production, this was an adventurous project for Hanover Productions for which we drew on all our resources of talent in all areas within Brighton - artistically, creatively, technically and financially. 'Rose' (Clea Smith) and 'Pinkie' (Joe Marshall)
Written by Brighton playwright, Terry James, who stayed faithful to the book whilst allowing the play to reflect the seedy Brighton of both the 30's and the present day. THE CAST Pinkie Brown Joe Marshall Rose Clea Smith Ida Arnold Maggie Clune Dallow Philip Barnes Phil Corkery Mark Burgess Spicer Richard Felix Judy Isabel Scott Plummer Prewitt Trevor Littledale Cubitt Mark Katz All other parts in the book were played by the above cast members 'doubling-up'.
