Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Dudley Dursley runs down the stairs and jumps up and down above Harry's cupboard informing him it is his (Dudley's) birthday and they are off to the zoo. Harry cooks breakfast whilst Dudley throws a tantrum that he has two less presents than last year. They all head to the zoo. Dudley and Uncle Vernon bang on the window of a boa constrictor but it doesn't move. Harry starts to talk to it and the glass disappears and Dudley falls face first into the water. The snake slithers off and the glass reappears trapping Dudley. Harry is punished for this and locked in his cupboard.

Harry gets a letter addressed to him in his cupboard. Dudley notices this and Uncle Vernon takes the letter off him and is worried. More letters arrive the next day, so Uncle Vernon boards up the letterbox, Sunday arrives and Harry notices hundreds of owls outside on Privet Drive. All of a sudden, hundreds of the letters fall down the chimney. Harry grabs one and runs out but Uncle Vernon stops him from reading it.

They leave Privet Drive and head out to sea. Harry counts down to his 11th birthday using Dudley's watch and suddenly there is a knocking on the door and it is knocked down revealing a giant of a man with a pink umbrella. It's Hagrid and he's come to give Harry his birthday cake and his letter and Harry learns he is a wizard. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia are outraged Harry is one of them but expected it with Harry's mum and dad been wizards too. Dudley meanwhile is eating Harry's cake, Hagrid notices and gives him a pigs tail.

Harry and Hagrid go to London and head to The Leaky Cauldron. Everyone is delighted to meet Harry and knows who he is. They go to Diagon Alley but first head to Gringotts to get Harry's money and something on Hogwarts' business for Dumbledore. Afterwards, Harry goes to Ollivanders for his wand whilst Hagrid goes off to do something. He manages to break a few things with wands but soon gets his wand. Hagrid returns with an owl for Harry. They go to The Leaky Cauldron and Harry discovers the truth about his parents and Voldemort. It flashbacks showing the Potter's house at Godric Hollow and the murder of Lily.

Hagrid drops Harry off at Platform 9 and 3/4 but he can't get on the platform. He spots some wizards (Weaselys) and asks and gets onto the platform. On the train, he is joined by Ron and Harry buys them sweets. They meet Hermione Granger who acts superior to them both. They get the boats across the lake to Hogwarts and are greeted by Professor McGonagall. Harry meets Draco Malfoy who he declines to be friends with and then it is The Sorting Ceremony after a few words from Dumbeldore. It is then the Feast and they meet some of the ghosts before heading up to the common rooms.

Ron and Harry are late for Transfiguration but don't think that McGonagall will find out. The cat sat on the table transfigures into McGonagall (Ron - "That was BLOODY brilliant").

Neville is sent a Remembreball and they have their first flying lesson. Neville loses control and breaks his wrist, Draco takes the Remembreball and Harry goes after him on his broom and catches it. McGonagall sees him and takes him to see Wood. Harry is to be the new Gryffindor Seeker.

They have their first potions lesson and Snape picks on Harry and takes a liking to Draco. Hermione shows Ron and Harry that Harry's dad was a Gryffindor player. On their way back, the staircases change and they end up in the forbidden corridor and meet Fluffy. Oliver Wood teaches Harry about Quidditch.

In Charms, Hermione is the only one who can make a feather float. Ron bad-mouths her and Hermione ends up going off to cry. Quirrel bursts in at the Halloween feast and announces: "TROLL, DUNGEON . . . just thought you should know." then faints. Hermione doesn't know though as she is in the girl's toilets still crying. Harry and Ron go to find her and realise the troll is heading for the toilets where Hermione is. They manage to knock out the troll using the feather spell and Harry's wand stuck up the nose of the troll ("Irgh, troll bogies."). Snape, McGonagall and Quirrel arrive on the scene and Harry notices Snape's leg is hurt.

Harry's broom arrives and it is the Qudditch match; Gryffindor versus Slytherin. Harry has broom trouble and Hermione and Ron see Snape muttering. Hermione sets his robes on fire. Harry manages to get on his broom, sees the snitch and ends up coughing it up as he nearly swallowed it.

Christmas at Hogwarts and Ron and Harry stay. They get presents and Harry gets an invisibility cloak off of an unnamed source. He explores Hogwarts and discovers a mirror which shows his parents. He shows Ron and comes back later on his own. Dumbledore catches him and explains about the mirror.

They find out that Fluffy is guarding a Philosopher's Stone and go to see Hagrid. He doesn't want to see them ("I'm not in the mood for entertaining tonight." ) but they announce about the stone. They learn Hagrid has a dragon and see it hatch. Hagrid is delighted even when Norbert sets Hagrid's beard on fire! Draco sees them and reports them. They all get detention including Draco and 150 points taken from Gryffindor.

Their detention is in the Dark Forest and they are looking for a unicorn. Harry, Draco and Fang come across it. Draco and Fang run off but Harry can't. A dark figure comes towards him but he is saved by Firenze, a centaur. The hooded figure was Voldemort!

End of exams happen and Harry realises something about Hagrid and the dragon egg (Dumbledore had Norbert sent to Romania) and they realise that Hagrid told the bloke he won the egg off how to get past Fluffy. They go to see Dumbledore but he has gone to London.

Neville tries to stop them from sneaking out of Gryffindor that night. Hermione puts the full body lock on him. They head down the trapdoor just escaping Fluffy and get trapped in Devil Snare. They get through and then next obstacle is catching a key which Harry does. They then play themselves across a chess board and Ron sacrifices himself. Harry goes on alone and discovers not Snape but Quirrel.

Harry looks in the Mirror of Erised and he gets the stone in his pocket but lies to Quirrel. Voldemort wants to speak to Harry, so Quirrel unwraps his turban. Voldemort tries to tempt Harry to the Dark Side but he won't. Voldemort orders Quirrel to kill Harry but Harry's touch burns Quirrel. Harry is knocked out and Voldemort slithers out.

Harry wakes up in the hospital wing and talks to Dumbledore about what happened. He goes to the Feast; Slytherin has won but Dumbledore awards some points and Gryffindor win the House Cup.

They are all at the train station waiting to get the train home. Harry says goodbye and hugs Hagrid. Hagrid tells him that the Dursleys don't know he cant use magic at home and winks at him. Harry gets on the train and Hagrid walks back to Hogwarts waving to the train.
