Border Reivers  -   4 July
Historic Rally Car Register event. Britain's only Economy Historic Road Rally start from Double World F1 Champion auld home challenging130-miles route through the stunning scenery of the picturesque Scottish Borders & East Lothian that shaped young borders farmer in to F1 great. Offers a ‘50's road rally 10 driving tests on various surfaces including Winfield auld Grand Prix venue. Expert & Clubman on straightforward navigation on one map (well it is an economy event). Novices & Beginners the full route designed on a simple to use Tulip Road Book, ideal for all the family. Plus the addition of estimating your fuel consumption added in to the mix. MERCURY MOTORSPORT RALLY STAGES INGLISTON, 25/26 July
The event will be contained wholly within the perimeter of THE ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOWGROUND. A total of 14 special stages totalling approx 75 miles. Entry fee £310.00 which includes a donation of £10 towards a marshal’s fund and £10 for the set-up crew. [Regs]

Speyside Stages - 8 Aug
The 2009 Gleaner Oil & Gas Speyside Stages takes place on Saturday the 8th of August. The sixth round of the Hankook MSA Scottish Rally Championship will cover 45 stage miles in the North East of Scotland, based in Elgin. The rally will start with a 0.75 mile tarmac spectator stage in the Cooper Park, right in the centre of Elgin, before heading out to some of the North East of Scotlands best gravel stages. [Regs]

Stobs Classic - 14 June
Archie and Richard Simmonds secured their Stobs Classic crown on Sunday 14 June. The weather favoured the early runners as heavy rain, which threatened the morning session, hit hard during part of the afternoon session, extending the test times. [more]

Border Counties Rally - 20 & 21 March
Under a clear blue sky and outstanding weather for March, Marcus Dodd and Andrew Bargery took first place in their Hyundai Accent WRC by a mere 5.9 seconds from Steve Perez and Paul Spooner's Ford Focus WRC 07.Meanwhile in the Hankook MSA Scottish Championship Jimmy Girvan and Mike Ramsay took top prize, in a Subaru Impreza, 17 seconds ahead of David Bogie and Kevin Rae in a Mitsubishi Evo 9. Flying Scotsman - 29 March
HBCC members turned out to support the crews as they made their way through the Scottish Borders. Stopping at Stobs Camp the competitors, in their pre-war machinery, undertook a regularity across the many roads within the camp, before heading for a procession through Hawick on their way to Biggar and the final destination in Edinburgh, the terminal for the Flying Scotsman. AGM
The HBCC Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday Feb 22nd, where the main office bearers were elected and at the subsequent committee meeting the supporting members were elected. See full list under the Committee link. The Report and Accounts for 2008 were also presented and signed by the Board of Directors.

Hangover Autotest - with Video Feature
Ten starters enjoyed the sub zero sunshine at Stobs Camp near Hawick on Saturday 3rd January. Archie Simmonds made it a hat trick, having now won three Hangovers on the trot. No wonder he is smiling as he collects the new cup donated by Mike Gray.  [more]

MSA confirms Scottish IRC round in 2009
MSA Performance Director and former World Rally Champion co-driver, Robert Reid, joined Scotland`s First Minister, the Rt Hon Alec Salmond MSP, at the announcement of a Scottish round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) in 2009. The announcement of the event, secured by EventScotland the national events agency working in partnership with Stirling and Perth and Kinross Councils, was made by the First Minister who confirmed that Scotland will stage the final round of the prestigious IRC from 19-21 November next year, forming a centrepiece event within the Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations.
