THEY SAID WHAT… (with thanks also to Val Thompson and Neil Dodd).

"I was expecting it to set fire with all the oil that was leaking in which case, I was looking at parking it in a pond…" Barry Johnson has his own ideas about extinguishing fires on his sick Subaru…

“The organisers lost stage two, we knew where it was! Ever the joker, Paul Wedgebury’s new co driver ‘Dashing’ Neil Dashfield is as drole as ever regarding the cancellation of a stage on the grounds of safety…

“The bastards! I lost the game of hide and seek, I didn’t realise what they were playing at " Roger Duckworth realises he’s been ‘done’ by having to run first on the road in the snow – at car six!...

"This rally should be renamed ‘The Rally of Hiding in the Bushes…’” Duckworth’s co-driver Mark Broomfield adds his thoughts…

"I need some of those titanium skid plates, my kids love the sparks off them when the rocks hit them…” Barry Johnson checks on the finer intricacies with Marcus Dodd…

“Stewart had a face that a ferret wouldn’t bite…” Johnson again, after his co-driver thought the time in SS4 wasn’t particularly good…

“There must be some mistake, I can’t believe I am running so high up.” Tim Pearcey checks the results sheet before a problem with the transfer box relegated him down the order on the very last stage.

“I ain’t no snow driver, I shit myself in there…” Stephen Petch comes over all Mr T-like, and needs a change of underwear…

“We didn’t bring any snow tyres, we didn’t think it would be this bad…” Middleton Senior is nothing if not honest…

“My car doesn’t like snow. It only ever rains in Ireland, it doesn’t snow…” Emma McKinstry offers her meteorological opinion as to the situation…

"I wish we didn’t have to do this stage…” Marcus Dodd at the start of the final snowy test…

Upon catching a car in stage who wouldn’t pull over, winning Peugeot co-driver Miss Riddick commented with wagging finger “We know who it was so I shall be going and having a quiet word with them…! "

"I’ve never driven in snow before…” Sunny south coast resident Anthony Willmington reveals they don’t get much of the white stuff in Dorchester…

“I’m trying to behave and be responsible” Richard Gower puts a different slant on ‘the stages are very slippery’…

“That’s a good advert for the car” Steve Perez seizes the opportunity to remind everyone his 03 versions is still for sale at the Jedburgh finish!
