HOLLAND OPEN SINGLES ...
24 April 2005 - Hampshire trio Andy Jenkins, Colin Monk and James Wade were all taking part in one of Holland's biggest singles events. Andy reaches the quarter finals from over a thousand entries before losing out to Erwin Extercatte. Colin makes the last sixteen before Mark Walsh ends his hopes. James can only reach the last 128 and misses a golden opportunity to force his way into the top 32 for the first time.

INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
24 April 2005 - Hampshire 's A Teams both draw to give the county a slender 19-17 win on the final day of the season. Player of the match performances come from Doogie Ralph and Wendy Reinstadtler.

INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
23 April 2005 - Hampshire lead 10-8 overnight against Staffordshire. The Ladies B have a resounding 5-1 victory but the Mens B slip to a 5-7 defeat. As in the last match the best performances are Colin Philpott and Laura Power.

HOLLAND OPEN DOUBLES ...
23 April 2005 - James Wade and Colin Monk reach the final at Rotterdam from an entry of almost 400 pairs. They beat top 10 duo Andy Jenkins and Kevin Painter in the semi-finals but lose out to another top 10 pairing Roland Scholten and Ronnie Baxter in the final.

OBITUARY - BRIAN FOX ...
18 April 2005 - Sadly, former County B player Brian Fox from Basingstoke died yesterday, aged 51. Although he played the last of his two dozen or so matches in Hampshire's colours almost a quarter of a century ago he was still well-known and popular within the county. Our thoughts and condolences go to his family at this sad time.

The funeral is at 2.15 p.m. on Friday 22nd April at Basingstoke Crematorium. The Funeral Directors are Spencer & Peyton of Basingstoke.


ANTWERP OPEN ...
16 April 2005 - James Wade makes the last 16 of the ranked Antwerp Open before being beaten by Dutchman Jelle Klaasen. Terry Jenkins wins the event beating Mikel van Maastrigt in the final.

BUDWEISER UK OPEN GREENE KING REGIONAL FINALS ...
16 April 2005 - Sam Rooney wins through to the grand finals at the Reebok Stadium with a final victory over Hampshire team-mate Colin Philpott. Danny Pinhorne like Colin is denied a place at the last hurdle by Nigel Russell from Witney. It will be Sam's second visit to the grand finals at Bolton. As a youth player Sam reached the semi-finals of both the World Youth Masters and British Teenage Championship.

SOMERSET OPEN ...
10 April 2005 - Paul Hogan reaches the final of the Somerset Open but loses out to home player Neil Raikes. Neil also accounted for James Wade in the semi-final.

BUDWEISER UK OPEN MIDLANDS FINALS ...
9 April 2005 - Andy Jenkins and Colin Monk make the last 32 at Sheffield. Andy loses out to twice former World Champion Dennis Priestley while Colin is edged out by the new Dutch sensation Josephus Schenk. Bob Crawley and James Wade depart in the last 64, Bob to Tony Randell and James to Mark Thomson.

Jimmy Mann goes on to win the event with a final victory over Mark Walsh.


BUDWEISER UK OPEN GREENE KING REGIONAL FINALS ...
4 April 2005 - A number of Hampshire players will be in action on Saturday 16th April at The Rowing Machine, Witney, Oxfordshire as they try to claim one of the eight places available in the West Region Finals for the UK Open. These 8 will join 8 each from the South, North and East who will then be added to the top 128 professionals for the Grand Finals at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton in June.

Sam Rooney will be eager to win a return visit to the finals after qualifying in 2004. Sam, Paul Gibbs and Colin Philpott look the best bets on paper but there are a number of quality former county players like Richard Kirby, Roy Francis, Andy Portelli, Carole Shinar and Gareth Evans involved. Together with the other players who have fought through the pub rounds all these players are only three or four games away from glory and a chance of a TV appearance!


INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
3 April 2005 - Hampshire's Ladies A lose 2-4 and the Men's A lose 2-10 which gives an overall weekend defeat of 9-27. Best performances come from Jane Monaghan and Roy Brown.

INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
2 April 2005 - In their Inter County match with Yorkshire at Pontefract Hampshire's Ladies B force a 3-3 draw but the Men's B lose 2-10. Hampshire trail by 5-13 overnight. Top performers are Laura Power and Colin Philpott.

BUDWEISER UK OPEN MIDLANDS BOARD ALLOCATIONS ...
2 April 2005 - The board allocations for next weekend's last Budweiser UK Open heat have been made. The Midlands event will be staged in Sheffield and Ian Eames and Andy Jenkins are drawn in one of the toughest groups together with Kevin Painter and Dennis Priestley.

James Wade will have to contend with the likes of Peter Manley, Steve Coote and Sean Palfrey. Aaron Turner's board includes Jamie Harvey, Terry Jenkins and Andy Smith while Colin Monk is grouped with Paul Williams and Denis Ovens.

Ian Critchett could face opposition from Cliff Lazarenko and top seed Colin Lloyd while Bob Crawley's board will see Mark Walsh, Darren Webster and Simon Whatley. Robert Heard's group has Wayne Jones, Richie Burnett and Alan Caves listed.

Andy Jenkins, James Wade, Colin Monk and Bob Crawley are assured of a place in the Bolton finals. Ian Critchett and Aaron Turner look safe in the current table but they together with Ian Eames and Robert Heard will all be eager to make sure of their own place at the Reebok Stadium.

HAMPSHIRE OPEN 2005 ...
2 April 2005 - The 2005 Hampshire Open closing date is just four weeks away. The event will be held on Saturday 7th May at the Southampton Novotel. £2000 is up for grabs in one of the country's biggest and most popular one day county opens. Recent winners include Paul Carter, Ronnie Baxter, Paul Hogan, Colin Monk. Les Wallace holds the title, he beat Andy Jenkins in last May's final.
