The Hampshire Open will again take

Hampshire Open 2006 The 2005 event was won by Mark
Thomson who beat Lionel Sams in the final from a high class field of
420. The closing date is May
14th so don't delay your entry. |

Andy Jenkins makes the last 32 before going out to Dutch Teenage
sensation Michael van Gerwen who goes on to win the event. James
Wade makes the same round losing narrowly to Andy Smith.
In earlier rounds Colin Monk is
beaten by Owen Caffrey, Ian Eames by Matt Clark and Ian Critchett by
Colin Lloyd. |

James Wade partners Team Unicorn stablemate Adrian Lewis to the
final in Schiedam where they are narrowly beaten by Steve Alker and
Wayne Atwood. Andy Jenkins teams up with Kevin Painter to make the
last sixteen also losing to Steve and Wayne. |

2006 -
The late Bob Anderson's son Bob Anderson Jr partnered by Ian McLean
beat Dave Cross and Ron Atwill in the final of the first Bob
Anderson Memorial Pairs at the Academy Club, Basingstoke.
The Brian Fox Memorial Singles was won
by Trevor Elmer who beat Ian McLean in the final. Ricky Humber and
Mark Hazeldine reached the last four.
Tournament Organiser John Bartlett
said that the day was a great success raising over £250 for the
Heart of Darts charity and that he will continue to run the events
annually. |

Hampshire's Ladies A team draw 3-3 at Staffordshire and the Mens A
win by 7-5. Top players are Roy Brown and Laura Power. Hampshire win the weekend by 24-12. Hampshire finish in
third place in the overall table behind Yorkshire and Lancashire
missing the runners up spot by just three points.
Cheshire and Lincolnshire are relegated and will be replaced by
Cornwall and Glamorgan. Yorkshire win both Mens A
and Mens B titles by big margins, Warwickshire secure the Ladies A
title and Cambridgeshire shade the Ladies B title. Both Hampshire A
Teams finish sixth in their tables and both B Teams finish third. |

Paul Hogan is beaten in the last 32 in the German Open at Bochum.
Gary Anderson wins 3-1 and goes on to beat Martin Adams in the final. Unfortunately Eurosport's televised series of European Opens does not include
coverage of the final stages of this event. |

Hampshire win the Ladies B match 5-1 at Staffordshire and the Mens B
by 9-3 in the last
match of the season. Best performances are from Tony Whitcher and
Pennie Lewis. Dawn Simmonds makes her debut for the Ladies B. Hampshire lead by 14-4 overnight. Hampshire
still have a chance of second place in the overall table. They
started the weekend eleven points behind Lancashire. Lancashire are
level at 9-9 overnight at table toppers Yorkshire. |

2006 -
Bob Crawley will play Alan Green who recently rejoined the PDC in
the opening round at Bolton's Reebok Stadium in June. It is the
first game on the second stage board so is likely to get some live
television coverage. The winner will play Ian Whillis in the second
round.
Danny Pinhorne plays tough Belgian
Rocco Maes in his first match and will face John Magowan in Round 2
should he win through.
Ian McLean opens against the
survivor of the preliminary round between Dave Jowett and Darren
Webster and if he gets through faces either Darren Johnson or Ricki
Blay.
Big guns Andy Jenkins, Colin Monk and James Wade join the
event in the third round. |

James Wade beats Andy Jenkins in the final at Andover to take the
top prize of £1000. James beats Aaron Turner in the semi-final and
Andy ends Lionel Sams's hopes. As expected, a number of the world's
top twenty players take part in the event. |

At Sheffield Andy Jenkins is edged out of the semi-final in a last
leg decider by Ronnie Baxter after a quarter final win over Wayne
Mardle. Unfortunately for
Baxter, he is to suffer the same last leg agony in the final against
Raymond van Barneveld who takes his first big title since his recent
much-publicised move to the PDC after some excellent form on his way
to the final which sees him drop only 7 legs from 46 in his first
eight matches. |

Hampshire's Roy Brown
makes his international debut for England at Merthyr Tydfil against
the seasoned campaigner Gary Anderson of Scotland losing 3-0 in the
last match of the 6-6 draw. However, he recovers
well and beats Dale Pinch of Wales in the first match of the 7-5 victory. England take the title on legs countback. British
Eurosport 2 covers both of Roy's matches live. |

Andy Jenkins makes it through to Sunday's Sheffield finals showing
some great form at the Hull venue. James Wade is unlucky to join him
as he goes down 5-4 to Colin Lloyd in the last sixteen after leading
by 4-2. Colin Monk makes the last 64 losing to Erik Clarijs.
Andy, James and Colin are all assured
of a place in the top 32 of the qualifying table which will ensure
they enter the Bolton finals of this event at the last 64 stage. |

In partnership
with Test Valley Borough Council, Hampshire Community Police and
local business, Andover Invitation Darts announce the launch of
their Darts Academy.
An open evening
is to be held at The Entertainer, King Arthurs Way Andover, on
Wednesday 24th May; all those wishing to attend should arrive for a
presentation that will start at 7pm.
Children under
the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian as
prospective membership will be processed on the night.
England
International, former Winmau World Master and British Open Champion
Colin Monk has accepted the role of President and Hampshire’s Jeff
White, Bruce Smith, Ali MacDonald and Phil Morden have taken up
coaching roles.
If you are
serious bring your darts, Mum or Dad and see what’s occurring at the

Easter Saturday,
15th of April sees the running of the third Andover Darts Classic
sponsored by Transplus at the Entertainer, King Arthurs Way.
As a quality
competition limited to 64, many top professional and county players
will be vying for the £1000 champion’s cheque.
Last year’s
winner Mark Walsh will be there as will Andy Jenkins who will be out
to regain the title he won in 2004. James ‘perfect-9’ Wade, former
World Master Colin Monk and World Championship quarter-finalist Paul
Hogan are also in. So too is Wiltshire’s England International
Dennis Smith. The world's leading Master of Ceremonies Phil Jones
will referee the finals on stage and conclude the presentations.

Danny Pinhorne (pictured
left) has
qualified for the Budweiser UK Open finals in Bolton. He won through
today's regional play-off at Hendon. Ian McLean is another of the
eight winners to make it through. A number of Hampshire based
players took part in the play-off. Dave Cross and Darren Andrews
both finish one win away from the Grand Finals as they both miss out
in the final round. |

Yorkshire by 12-6 overnight. The Ladies B lose 5-1 and the Mens B by
5-7 in the home match at Hill Park Memorial WMC. Pick of the winning
