TRANSPLUS ANDOVER CLASSIC 2006 ...
25 February 2006 - The qualifiers for the last 4 places in the 2006 Andover Classic took place at the Entertainer and a strong field drew players from New Milton, Portsmouth, Southampton, Reading, Swindon, Sunbury and Oxford.
 
The four finals were: Linton Hickman 4 Ron Atwill 5, Joe Gaffney 5 Gary Penwarden 3, Gareth Morgans 0 Ivor Andrews 5, Peter Hainer 5 David Williamson 4.
 
Highlights during the afternoon were Andover Youth player Jamie Kelling winning in 14, 15, 17, and 14 darts against Danny Clayton and Ron Atwill's 14 dart deciding leg in his final match against Linton Hickman to qualify.

The finals are to be held on Easter Saturday 15th April 2006.


HAMPSHIRE OPEN 2006  ...
The Hampshire Open will again take place at the Southampton Novotel on Saturday 20th May 2006.

The 2005 event was won by Mark Thomson who beat Lionel Sams in the final from a high class field of 420.


INTERNATIONAL DARTS LEAGUE ...
21 February 2006 - Basingstoke based Paul Hogan will be one of the 32 players who takes part in the International Darts League in Nijmegen in the Netherlands between 6th and 14th May 2006.

Paul earned his place by virtue of finishing in the top 24 of the qualifying table that ran between the Scottish Open 2005 and the Dutch Open 2006.

Four top PDC players have been invited by the promoters and Raymond van Barneveld is included as a result of his position in the qualifying table over the last 12 months despite his recent move to the PDC.

There is a clear focus on youth in the naming of the four wildcards with Dutch teenagers Michael van Gerwen and World Cup Youth Singles winner Johnny Nijs getting the nod. They are joined by the 2006 Lakeside World Champion Jelle Klaasen and 2004 Champion Andy Fordham.

The opening round comprises eight round robin groups of four and details of the draw will be posted when made on 10th March.


IRISH MASTERS ...
19 February 2006 - James Wade continued his good form in the Irish Masters with wins over Richie Burnett and Colin Monk.

Unfortunately, he run into Dennis Priestley who has been in devastating form these last few weeks and went down 5-3 in the semi-finals.

Colin Monk ended the hopes of Wayne Jones in the last sixteen.

Sally Smith retained the Rosslare Open Ladies title she won in 2005.


IRISH MASTERS ...
18 February 2006 - In the Irish masters in Rosslare, both Colin Monk and defending champion James Wade survive to the last sixteen which will be played on Sunday.

Andy Jenkins is beaten in the last 32 by Wayne Jones. James beats Lionel Sams to progress and Colin takes out Alan Warriner-Little.


BUDWEISER UK OPEN - SOUTH WEST REGIONAL FINAL ...
12 February 2006 - Both James Wade and Andy Jenkins have to be content with £500 apiece as they both lose their quarter final matches at The Merlin, Swindon.

Mark Dudbridge edges James Wade and Ronnie Baxter stops Andy Jenkins.

Mark Dudbridge wins the event beating Dennis Priestley in the final.


INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
12 February 2006 - Hampshire build on the overnight lead at Hill Park as the Ladies A win 4-2 and the Mens A win 7-5 giving an overall win of 21-15. Hampshire remain second in the Premier League table.

Top performers were Danny Ballard and Laura Power. Danny Pinhorne played his first match in the Mens A Team.


BUDWEISER UK OPEN - SOUTH WEST REGIONAL FINAL ...
11 February 2006 - Andy Jenkins and James Wade both qualify for the quarter finals on Sunday. Bob Crawley reaches the last 64 but goes down to Michael Barnard.

INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ...
11 February 2006 - It is almost fifteen years since Hampshire entertained Lincolnshire in a home inter county match. The B teams got the weekend off to a cracking start at Hill Park winning the Ladies B 4-2 and drawing the Mens B 6-6. Top performances came from Amanda Humphreys and Steve Phipps. Matt Richards made his first appearance in the Mens B Team.

Hampshire take a 10-8 lead into Sunday's action and the Ladies B remain top of their league table.


EASTBOURNE DARTS WEEKEND - SUNDAY ...
5 February 2006 - Andy Jenkins and Willie Burksfield reach the last 32 of the John Smith's Open Singles at the Eastbourne Festival. Gary Welding and Michael Cummings end their hopes.

Danny Ballard (pictured left) wins the Mens Singles final against Graham Hollis and Jane Monaghan is runner up to Apylee Jones in the Ladies Singles. Laura Power reaches the Ladies semi-finals and Steve Phipps makes the quarter-finals in the Mens Singles.


EASTBOURNE DARTS WEEKEND - SATURDAY ...
4 February 2006 - James Wade and Colin Monk both make the last sixteen of the 128+ Classic Singles event at Eastbourne before going down to Ronnie Baxter and Matt Clark. Andy Jenkins and Bob Crawley make the last 32 but are beaten by Keith Rooney and Andy Hamilton.

DUTCH OPEN ...
4 February 2006 - Paul Hogan reaches the last 32 of the Dutch Open in Veldhoven before falling to home player Niels de Ruiter. Unfortunately events are soured as three players are eliminated from the event for being PDC players. One of the players, Dutchman Jan van der Rassel. had reached the quarter finals thereby giving another Dutchman, Vincent van der Voort a clear run to the semi-final. Belgian Erik Clarijs and German Tomas Seyler were the other two players to be disqualified.
