BRITISH INTER
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP ... |
|
22
January 2006 -
A 4-2 win in the Ladies A and a
6-6 draw in the Mens A mean Hampshire beat Kent by 22-14 overall and
remain second in the league table.
Top performers on the Sunday were Roy
Brown and Laura Power. Roy had an excellent 100.20 average and won
his match with a classy 170 finish and surely stands an excellent
chance of England selection next month. |

STAN JAMES PLAYERS
CHAMPIONSHIP GIBRALTAR ... |
|
21
January 2006 -
Andy Jenkins and James Wade
both reach the last 16 of Gibraltar's first professional event
before Jason Clark and Ronnie Baxter halt their progress. Colin Monk
had also lost out to Jason Clark in the last 64 and in the same
round Ian Critchett was unlucky to be edged out by James Wade in a
tight match. A surprise but
very welcome visitor at the Victoria Stadium was former Hampshire
player Harry Paine. Harry was enjoying a long holiday nearby in
Spain and travelled a few extra miles across the border to catch up
with a few old friends.
Dennis Priestley beat Terry Jenkins
in the final. |
