- LAURA POWER is runner up to Tricia Wright in the Ladies
Cricket Singles and also makes the last eight of the Ladies 501
Singles. Aaron Turner reaches the last 16 of the Men's Cricket
Singles and the quarter finals of the Men's 501 Doubles, Open
Cricket Doubles and Blind Draw 501 Doubles. |

- HAMPSHIRE YOUTH edged a close match with the Andover
Unicorn Youth Darts Academy at Gosport by 11-10. The young ladies
drew 3-3 and the Hampshire boys won by 8-7. |

The LINDFORD EASTER OPEN will take
place at the Lindford WMC in Lindford, Hampshire on Monday 9
April 2007.Minimum Prize
Money is £1,000 with a £7 entry fee.
A Youth event with trophies and
prizes will also be held at £3 per entry. Cheques to be made
payable to Darren Oakley. Entry for this is required before 6
April 2007.

- HAMPSHIRE's selectors have nominated ROY BROWN, DANNY
BALLARD, PAUL HOGAN and RICK LOWTHER for selection into the 2007
English National Team. Roy is a member of the current team and
former World Boys' Master Danny was named as the standby player in
2006. Paul has also played for England on previous occasions. |

- COLIN MONK lasts until the third round but is again
beaten by PDC new signing Jelle Klaasen. James Wade is beaten at the
same stage by Wes Newton.
Andy Jenkins reaches the last 64 where Colin Monk ends his hopes and
Ian Critchett is again beaten by Mark Dudbridge, this time in a much
closer match.
Teenage sensation Michael van
Gerwen, the current World Master, ends Raymond van Barneveld's great
start to 2007 dropping only one leg and Andy Hamilton goes on to
beat Colin Lloyd in the final to lift his first Pro Tour title. |

- A good Men's A Team performance from HAMPSHIRE winning
by 8-4 closes the final score to 17-19 but the 4-2 win for Kent in
the Ladies A made the final target just a little too much.

- IAN EAMES has his best result in a PDC Pro Tour event
going down 3-1 against Roland Scholten in the third round.
Bob Crawley, also defeated by
Scholten, Colin Monk who loses to Jelle Klaasen, James Wade going
down to Dave Jowett and Ian Critchett who is beaten Mark Dudbridge
all make last 64 placings.
Raymond van Barneveld beats Adrian
Lewis in the final to maintain his 100% record for 2007. |

- Two poor results from HAMPSHIRE'S B Teams leave the
county trailing 7-11 overnight in the fixture with Kent at Hill Park
Memorial WMC. The Ladies lose
by 2-4 and the Men's by 5-7. Top performers are Sam Rooney and Dawn
Simmonds. Darren Andrews makes his debut in the Men's Team. |

ended on the opening weekend as PAUL HOGAN is beaten 3-1 by Shaun
Greatbatch. |

- JAMES WADE and ANDY JENKINS were back in the money in
the very first PDC Pro Tour event of 2007 as they reached the
quarter finals at the Park Hotel, Tynemouth.
James was edged out 5-4 by Alan Tabern
and Andy Jenkins was pipped at the post, 5-4 as well, by Terry
Jenkins.
Both banked £600 towards the Order
of Merit and are now placed in 11th and 12th respectively on £59,836
and £58,328 in the new
table.
There were early defeats for IAN
CRITCHETT, IAN EAMES, COLIN MONK and RICKY WILLIAMS who was making
an encouraging debut in a PDC Pro Tour event.

- PAUL GIBBS played well on his Lakeside debut averaging
over 92. Each set was tight and the scoreline of 3-0 was flattering
as MERVYN KING admitted. He later said: "I
take my hat off to Paul - he put up a diamond performance."
Mervyn has twice been runner up in the event and has
consistently been one of the top-rated BDO performers over the last
decade. He now meets Mike Veitch. |
