LAS VEGAS DESERT CLASSIC ...
30 June 2005 - James Wade goes down 3-1 in an excellent match with Roland Scholten. James agonisingly missed the bull on 170 and 161 checkouts that could so easily have given him another two sets which would have been enough to make the quarter finals.

Unfortunately Andy Jenkins finds Phil Taylor in irresistible mood as he powers to a 3-0 win with an average of almost 111 a throw.


LAS VEGAS DESERT CLASSIC ...
29 June 2005 - James Wade beats world number three player Ronnie Baxter and Andy Jenkins ousts the strong Andy Smith in the first round of the Desert Classic from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both will be in live television action in tomorrow night's last sixteen on Sky Sports.

LAS VEGAS DESERT CLASSIC ...
28 June 2005 - James Wade has a last gasp victory over Tony O'Shea in the final qualifying heat to make the Las Vegas Desert Classic last 32 tomorrow. Andy Jenkins is one of the top dozen in the world and four North Anericans exempt from the qualifying stage. James had come close to qualifying earlier in the day in the third heat but was pipped by Top Banana Mark Holden in the final match.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS ...
26 June 2005 - The second Courage Singles event will be held at Hill Park Memorial WMC on Sunday 16th October 2005 and there is a £600 prize fund up for grabs. Entry is open to anyone but there is a restriction on numbers and only the first 100 entries received will be accepted. Roy Brown beat Paul Hogan in the final of the 2004 event which attracted a field of over eighty.

The Basingstoke Snooker Academy will be holding the annual Bert and Phyl Kelly Pairs events for Mens and Ladies Pairs respectively pm Monday 4th July 2005. BRITISH LADIES PENTATHLON ...
25 June 2005 - Jane Monaghan competes in the gruelling British Pentathlon which showcases some of the finest talents in the ladies' game and after the day long competition finishes in 19th place.

BAVARIA WORLD DARTS TROPHY ...
24 June 2005 - Wildcard Paul Hogan meets Martin Atkins in the first round of the World Darts Trophy to be held between 3rd and 11th September 2005 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Yorkshireman Martin was also a wildcard invitation to the event and the winner could face Raymond van Barneveld in the second round if, as expected he beats Scotland's Gary Anderson. For Paul this could be a repeat of the 2004 Lakeside second round in which van Barneveld won 3-1.

SECOND PDPA PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP ISLE OF WIGHT ...
19 June 2005 - Andy Jenkins has a tremendous run to the final where top seed Colin Lloyd runs out a 3-1 winner, Andy has to console himself with the £2,500 runners up prize in the £20,000 event. Colin Monk makes the last 32 where Barrie Bates ends his hopes. James Wade and Bob Crawley are both edged out in close games in the last 64 by Denis Ovens and Roland Scholten. Ian Critchett also makes the last 64 removing seed Denis Smith but is no match for an in-form Chris Mason.

ENGLISH OPEN ...
19 June 2005 - Paul Hogan reaches the last 32 of the English Open at Brean Sands where he loses narrowly to Stephen Rose.

FIRST PDPA PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP ISLE OF WIGHT ...
18 June 2005 - James Wade reaches the last sixteen before Roland Scholten halts his run. Bob Crawley is pipped 3-2 by Peter Wright in the last 32. Andy Jenkins and Colin Monk reach the last 64 but both are beaten 3-0 by Bob Crawley and Peter Manley. Jason Crawley knocks out seed Simon Whatley to make the last 64 and earn his first world ranking points. He is unfortunate not to progress further as he loses 2-3 to Irish veteran Tom Kirby in a high quality game.

STAN JAMES WORLD MATCHPLAY PLAY OFF ...
17 June 2005 - Colin Monk makes one of the four group quarter finals but is beaten 5-3 by eventual qualifier Ian Whillis. Ian Critchett lasts until the previous round but loses out to David Platt. James Wade, Bob Crawley, Jason Crawley and Aaron Turner all lose narrowly in their opening matches.

BUDWEISER UK OPEN ...
12 June 2005 - Hampshire's last hopes of a victory at the Reebok Stadium are ended as Peter Manley beats James Wade 11-4 in the sixth round, the last sixteen. Phil Taylor hits his third televised nine dart game in the smei final against Roland Scholten.

11 June 2005 - Bob Crawley wins his third round match with a 5-2 win over former world number one Rod Harrington.

Bob Crawley and Andy Jenkins both bow out 6-8 to Steve Hine and Bob Anderson in the fourth round but Colin Monk beats Alan Caves 8-5 and James Wade stages a remarkable fightback against Wayne Mardle to win 8-6

James Wade's progress continues into day three with a fine 11-9 win over Bob Anderson in the fifth round but rising star Adrian Lewis ends Colin Monk's run with an 11-0 victory.


SWISS OPEN ...
11 June 2005 - Paul Hogan continues the long tradition of good Hampshire performances in Basel as he makes the semi-finals of the Mens Singles before losing out to Martin Atkins.

BUDWEISER UK OPEN ...
10 June 2005- Ian Critchett has the dubious honour of one of the opening preliminary round matches to kick the action off at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton and he successfully negotiates a 4-2 win. Unfortunately Robert Heard is not able to join him in the next round as he loses 4-1 to Gary Ellis.

Sam Rooney, who made the finals through the Greene King play offs, has a good 4-1 win over John King and Aaron Turner has a great 4-3 victory over Jason Clark on the main televised stage board. Ian Critchett also plays a thrilling match in his television debut but cannot survive a marvellous comeback from former News of The World finalist Sergio Bongiovanni who at 67 proves age is no barrier as he edges the match 4-3 to conclude the first round.

Sam Rooney is beaten 4-1 by Glenn Moody and Deta Hedman throws some excellent darts to end Aaron Turner's interest by 4-3 in the second round matches.


SHEPPEY CLASSIC ...
5 June 2005 - Colin Monk reaches the semi finals at the Sheppey Classic but eventual champion Andy Belton runs out a 5-1 winner. James Wade, Danny Pinhorne and Ian Critchett make the last 32 and Andy Jenkins the last 64. Ian Critchett is unfortunate not to make it further as he is narrowly beaten 3-4 by Vic Hubbard.
