BAVARIA WORLD DARTS TROPHY ...
27 May 2005 - Promoters Schoofs Management and Events have accorded Paul Hogan a wildcard invitation into the World Darts Trophy to be held between 3rd and 11th September 2005 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

It would have been a harsh decision not to include the Basingstoke based player as he was placed in joint 27th position with Kiwi Robert Grant in the table that is used for invitation purposes and was only edged out of the automatic positions due to 2004 semi-finalist Tony David failing to make the top 28.

Andy Fordham and Martin Atkins are two other wildcard invitations and the final place will go to the winner of a four man Dutch play off.

Paul's performances on the circuit in the past year by reaching the Northern Irish Open final, Scottish Open semi final, British Open quarter final and the last sixteen of the Swiss Open are the results that earned him his place at Utrecht.

Unfortunately Jane Monaghan's position of joint 13th in the ladies table is not high enough for inclusion into the ladies event as only the top 5 plus 2004 runner up Anastasia Dobromyslova from Russia gain automatic entry. Both of the promoter's wildcards are awarded to Dutch players, Mieke de Boer and Karin Krappen.

The event has its own website at www.worlddartstrophy.nl

The tables are composed from placings in a combination of national and local opens together with the qualifying events for BDO championships.
