Alphabetic List
Draw
There are certainly some
interesting names in the draw. While the top 16 PDC ranked players
are in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut for the $300,000 World
Series of Darts, TV regulars such as James Wade, Dennis Smith, Colin
Monk, Lionel Sams, reigning champion Mark Thomson (pictured left) and Jimmy Mann are
all eager to win this prestigious event.
Back from his recent trip to
Nijmegen for the Dutch TV major, the International Darts League Paul Hogan is
the only top flight WDF player laying his reputation on the line but
there are plenty of other quality players in the mix such as former
World Champion Les Wallace, his brother Andy, who also represented
Scotland.
Former World Boys Champions Danny
Ballard and Aaron Turner are in the draw and former World Number 1
Jayne Moulsley is one of several ladies taking up the challenge.
Richie Gardner is a former World
Pairs champion and used to be a TV regular in the 80s and early 90s.
Glenn Toms is a former British
Teenage and English National Champion and Kirk Shepherd, another
former World Boys Champion is the
current national junior player of the year.
Add to this the cream of county
talent from Hampshire and all of the other surrounding counties and
the depth of quality is just astounding.
Saturday's winner will have
survived a gruelling day and won eight or nine matches to call
himself, or herself the Hampshire Open Champion 2006. |
