Lakeside Ladies' World Championship will see Stephanie Smee
(pictured left) face
number one seed Francis Hoenselaar on Saturday 5 January at 9.20
p.m.The champion will take
the top prize of £6,000. Trina Gulliver has won each of the seven
previous events. |

29 November 2007 -
The Lindford WMC plays host to the
Phil Taylor Worthington Masters this evening. Local players include
Neill Neat and Carl Minter.
Other events in the pipeline for the Lindford WMC are a head to head
exhibition between James Wade and Peter Manley, best of 21 legs with
George Noble as MC on Satrurday 2 February 2008.
Both players will also be playing
challengers during the evening and tickets cost £10. More details

The Lindford Easter Open will also

Sid Waddell and Barry Hearn made the
draw for the £605,000 Ladbrokes.com World Championship live on Sky
Sports News this afternoon.
James Wade starts against Australian Steve MacArthur and Colin Monk
opens his campaign against Denis Ovens.
Andy Jenkins must wait to find out
his opponent as he faces the winner of the preliminary round clash
between Filipino Rizal Barellano and Czech Miloslav Navratil.
The action gets underway on Monday
17 December at the Alexandra Palace and every dart will be shown
live by Sky Sports TV. |

Paul Hogan loses 4-1 to Patrick Bulen
of Belgium in the Primus Masters at Eindhoven.
Paul Gibbs makes the last 64 but is
beaten by Pascal Rabau.
Gibbs and Hogan team up to make the
quarter-finals of the Men's Doubles.
The singles event is won by Michael van Gerwen
who beats Cor Ernst in the final. |

Sunday 16 December 2007 at ITT Cannons Social Club, Jays Close,

with £100 minimum for the winners and a double in double out singles
event with £200 minimum to the champion.

ITV Wildcard winner Kevin
McDine produces a spectacular performance to oust James Wade from
the £300,000 event at Wolverhampton.
McDine wins by 10 legs to 7 taking 7
of the last 8 eight legs finishing with an average of close to 106.
Wade managed to include the event's
top finish of 170, which puts him in line for the £3,000 bonus and
averaged over 102 despite defeat.
The 22-year-old Geordie will face
former world champion Jelle Klaasen for a place in the semi-finals
on Friday evening. |

Former world champion John Part
ended the hopes of Andy Jenkins in a 5-0 whitewash at Wolverhampton
Civic Hall this evening.
The scoreline was a little
deceptive as both players averaged over 95 but Part's clinical
finishing powered him to the top of the group while Jenkins is
eliminated finishing bottom.
Part will now face Colin Lloyd for
a quarter-final spot on Thursday evening. |

title. Since Krappen is already qualified for the Lakeside Ladies'

Francis Hoenselaar in the opening round as a result of winning the
standby play-off on Thursday evening. |

Colin Monk has qualified for
the Ladbrokes.com World Championship which starts on December 17.
Monk drew on all his experience to
survive match darts from Paul Knighton in the qualifying round.
Monk joins
James Wade and Andy Jenkins who will both be seeded in the final
stages chasing a share of a massive £605,000.
Danny Pinhorne
reached the last thirty-two of the Wolverhampton qualifying event
that produced the final eight players for Alexandra Palace. Pinhorne
was defeated 5-1 by eventual qualifier Jamie Caven.
Three other
Hampshiremen featured in the last 64. Ricky Williams who loses out
5-3 to Steve Smith, Jason Crawley who goes down 5-2 to Jamie Caven
and Ian Critchett who is narrowly beaten 5-4 by Dave Ladley.

16 November 2007 -
PAUL GIBBS wins four matches to
qualify for the last sixteen of the £50,000 Winmau World Masters and
keep alive his hope of a place at Lakeside.
He beats Austrian Dietmar Burger,
Belgian Tony Martinez, Dutchman Joey ten Berge and Englishman Davy
Richardson to qualify for the last sixteen round in which the top
eight seeds start. He will face Tony O'Shea tomorrow.
Wendy Reinstadtler wins her first
match of the £10,000 Ladies World Masters but loses in the second
round against Karin ten Kate from the Netherlands.
Stephanie Smee still has a chance
of a place at Lakeside as only one of the four semi-finalists for
Sunday is not already qualified for the world finals.
Again Roy Brown is unable to take
part due to the change of date. |

15 November 2007 -
The play-off for the remaining places
at Lakeside took place at Bridlington this evening.
Paul Gibbs who was controversially omitted from the final line up in
order to include an unranked Canadian was beaten in his opening
match by World Boys Masters contestant Shaun Griffiths. His only
chance now is to win the Winmau World Masters on Sunday to qualify.
Paul Hogan wins his first match but is
beaten by Mike Veitch in the second round.
Roy Brown is unable to take part
due to the date change by the promoters as he is on holiday.
There is better news in the Ladies'
event however as Stephanie Smee won through five rounds before
losing out in the last leg to Rilana Erades from the Netherlands.
Smee then beat English
international Tricia Wright in the standby match and if Sunday's
Ladies' World Masters winner is already qualified then she will take
her place in the final eight.

Paul Gibbs has missed out on
qualification for the 2008 Lakeside World Championship.
Last year the top 27 players in the
ranking table were invited to the grand finals by the promoters, the
BDO.
Gibbs then won
one of the qualifying places available and gave a creditable
performance on his big-time debut against seasoned professional
Mervyn King.
Despite
finishing in the top 27 in the ranking table this year only 26
players were taken from the list with an unranked Canadian
controversially given a wildcard into the finals. |

JAMES WADE reaches the quarter-finals
of the second Players Championship of the weekend at Lisse but
Adrian Lewis beats him 3-1.
Colin Monk and Andy Jenkins both feature in the last 32 and both
lose by 3-1. Monk loses to Andy Hamilton and Jenkins to Toon Greebe
whose performance ensures his world championship qualification
through the Dutch ranking table.
Ricky Williams is beaten 3-2 in a
close encounter with Jason Clark who also makes the world
championship as a result of his season's performance in the Players
Championship Table.

beat Gary Creamer, Aaron Turner beat Gary Collis. Semi-finals - Paul

Ladies' Singles. Quarter-finals -
Tricia Wright beat Linda Ithurralde, Sonia Duffy beat Sue Smee,

Nixon who beat John Brine and Jim Stevens.
The Ladies' Doubles is won by Tricia Wright and
Dawn Standley. Unfortunately Nancy Richardson and Leona
Hull are unable to contest the final due to injury to one of the
players.

and Tricia Wright who beat Paul Gibbs, Paul Hogan and Angela Hogan. |

FRED HICKLEY ... |

2 November 2007 -
Sadly, Fred Hickley passed away this
morning after a long period of illness.
Fred was well known for his work in
transporting and maintaining the county's equipment for various
events and for his work at the Cosham RBL which was, for a number of
years, the home of the county's junior teams.
