UNICORN ANDOVER DARTS ACADEMY ...

29 October 2006 - Andover Invitation Darts are thrilled to announce that The Unicorn Darts Academy has received the ultimate incentive for all aspiring darts players in the area.

Chairman Glen Dawkins announced to a packed Entertainer that coaches will annually vote for the girl or boy who has shown greatest potential and Unicorn Darts will induct them into their team which includes four world champions, contract with them and produce their own signature darts.

The most significant point is the long term commitment from the world’s leading darts supplier to grass roots players and the opportunity to qualify for this honour year on year.

“We believe we now have in place the best possible structure for the future - the academy partners consist of:

Unicorn Darts Products, Test Valley Borough Council, TestWay 7’s and Hampshire Constabulary

Equally as important, there is a team of coaches dedicated to giving the youngsters every opportunity to succeed in the set up and from such an early age”.

Still in its first year, the membership has grown to 38 with an even mix of boys, girls and juniors. The Academy which has already organised its first open competition, a James Wade exhibition, recently took delivery of their team shirts. With Colin Monk as president, Wednesday nights include internal leagues, out-shot clinics, Homework and Quizzes.
