An exciting week - Octopustravel.com want to use one of my photographs in an online travel guide!  No money involved, but still its fantastic for me.  Once they have it up and running in about 8 weeks time, I'll link to it.  Anyone wanting to use my photographs, please please contact me.
Gluten free diet is going fairly well - Marks and Spencer do a delicious gluten free choc chunk muffin in their cafe so cheers to them but a big boo to Debenhams cafe who although providing a gluten free cake option, ruined it by putting said cakes on a plate full of evil wheaty crumbs.

Please note that any MyDoom/netsky/*insert nasty virus of choice here* virus appearing to come from a hidey-hole.org.uk email address is NOT from me.  I do not use this domain for sending email - the MYDoom virus currently on the rampage fakes the headers.  As a result of discovering this and also due to the increasing amount of spam I receive, I have decided to remove all email links from the website.  See the new Contact page to find out how to email me.  This is less convenient than an email link, but I can't think of any other way!

Firstly - Happy New Year to all hideyhole.org.uk visitors!
Main news is that I have recently been diagnosed with Coeliac disease which is an allergy to gluten (found in all wheat products), I have been on the gluten free diet for about six weeks now and am already starting to feel an improvement!

Productive day for the Carruthers family - I won first prize for a piece of my pottery in the 'Any Other Handicraft' section of the Siddington and Preston Village Show.  Even better - Mum won the Best Handicraft and also Best in Show cups for her cross stitch that has taken her years to finish.  Dad won first prize for his wooden dolphin and third for his apples.

Tuesday, April 22, 2003 - Came back from a lovely weekend in Aberystwyth yesterday - on the back of a breakdown truck!  Edielweiss' exhaust fell off halfway home, the recovery man was very speedy, he got there in about 40 minutes, hoiked  Eidelweiss on the back and took us home (it was very undignified for her but she will get over it). Didn't matter because I had such a top weekend.

Friday, March 14, 2003 - Not a great deal of news, I haven't even had time to protest at the base again (see links). However, I have started my website course, so watch out for updates and probably a makeover! Oh and I didn't get the job at Royal Holloway, they didn't even bother to write to me, but I found out that I did do fairly well on the scary tests - I'm pretty clever it seems. Oh and I'm pissed off with the government and war and stuff, its just not necessary or justified, I even thought about quitting my job so Mr Blair can't spend my hard earned tax on it.

Saturday, December 21, 2002 - I had an interview at Royal Holloway University of London for the post of Assistant Online Course Producer (Editorial) on Thursday. 100 applicants, 6 interviewees, not bad eh? My first ever interview for a graduate job, which is quite cheering - and it was advertised in the Guardian - even more of an achievement! The psychmometric testing was a bit of a nightmare. I find out on January 6th.

Tuesday, August 13, 2002. It seems the house in London is sold! It has been removed from the estate agents website. I went to visit the bunker in Ullenwood on Friday, it was quite bizarre. I shan't be putting an offer in, Whoever buys it will be very rich and quite busy for some time just clearing the site. Photos to come once I have finished the film, see links page for more.

Saturday, August 03, 2002. On Friday 9th August I am going to visit a Civil Defense Bunker which is for sale! See links page for more.

On Friday 10 May 2002, I was discharged from outpatients and as long as I look after myself and keep active, I should be ok :)

On Wednesday 30 January 2002 I acquired a car! I am now the proud owner of a white, M reg Renault 5 campus prima. It has a sunroof and everything. Hurrah! Photos when I've taken some (when the rain stops) and when I have access to a scanner (mine is broken).

On Tuesday 15 January 2002 just after 4pm, I finally passed my driving test. This was the fourth attempt, but I had had a 6 year break. I'm really relieved and I'm now starting to look for a car. Watch this space!
