GIGOGRAPHY

In some sort of chronological order (oldest at the top), here are the bands I've seen over the years, what I thought of each gig and the idea I had "on CD" of the band before I went to see them.

*=poor **=ok ***=good ****=excellent *****=amazing!

BandLiveOn CDComments
Feeder*********It was Feeder, enough said.
Shed 7*****Pretty good in general but wouldn't rush to see them again.
Gloss*****Cerys Matthews sounding vocalist from Switzerland. Enjoyed them more live than on the CD.
The Levellers****Unsurprisingly, 'Beautiful Day' was the highlight.
Light***Decent mixture of tunes.
Ocean Colour Scene********Wow, I was very surprised, the atmosphere & everything was amazing!
Senseless***An up-and-coming local band. Not bad.
Thirteen:13***Liked them. Will consider buying their album when it comes out.
Guided By Voices***A mixed bag, some great tunes, some poor.
Hell Is For Heroes**Weren't bad, I just didn't like them much. Feature 2 ex-members of Symposium.
Elbow***Weren't good, but a lot of the audience seemed to enjoy it.
Rancid*****I thought I wouldn't like Rancid, but I did!
Feeder (2nd)*********The crowd loved them. So did I. Preceded their first major award - Kerrang!'s 'Best British Live Act'.
Supergrass*******One of my favourite bands on CD, but I found them a bit disappointing live. Not much enthusiasm.
Teenage Fanclub**********I was looking forward to this one, and wasn't let down. Set did dip slightly towards the middle though.
Manic Street Preachers******A good set from the Manics.
Proud Mary*Started well, but quickly became boring.
Ash*****Good.
Black Crowes-Most awful live performance I've ever heard, they just went on and on and on...headache inducing
Stereophonics*****Better than I thought they would be.
Marshal***Good, some good songs and riffage.
Haven**I liked a couple of their songs. They weren't bad.
Depeche Mode****I was disappointed with the setlist.
Fad Gadget****Dark. The sound they made was incredible.
Cinerama******I spent all my £s on Cinerama merchandise after the gig.
Turin Brakes****Pretty uninspiring.
James*********Great atmosphere.
Ocean Size**Forgot who they were but nevermind is it.
Easyworld****Rock On!
TCTC******Very decent live band.
Pet Shop Boys*****Alright actually. :o)
Bluetones****Brilliant! Only knew 2 songs but could have watched them all night.
Mansun***Good live band. Plenty of solos, but not over done.
Alfa 9**Alright band.
Minuteman***Good.
The Soundtrack Of Our Lives****One of the best bands I've seen. Some fantastic tunes, entertaining too.
Feeder (3rd)*********"It's great to be back" said Grant. The most fun I've had at a gig, EVER!
Moldy Peaches***Not bad, quite funny.
The Soundtrack Of Our Lives***Sound didn't quite seem right but I need to see this band more! TSOOL know how it's done.
The Bellrays**OK to good, didn't think that much of them.
Electric Soft Parade*****A bit disappointing, couldn't hear them too well...
The Dandy Warhols***Nothing special or outrageous, just good.
The White Stripes**Don't find them as good as some people make out, decent sound for just guitar & drums.
Weezer*******Incapable of including a bad song in the set, but seemed to be sound issues again...
The Breeders**Some good tunes, but basically just waiting for the appearance of Feeder...
Feeder (4th)*********10000 people into a 1000-capacity tent doesn't go. Feeder their usual self.
The Strokes***Didn't see/hear 1/2 of their set, still don't think they're worth all the hype. Pretty good though.
Lamb**Would've liked to have seen more, set was only 1/2 hour long.
Moby***Varied set. Moby is quite a humourous guy you know...

Some bands I still wish to see...
Fountains Of Wayne, Pulp, Blur, Foo Fighters, Offspring, Greenday, Silver Sun, Symposium, 3 Colours Red, Zero Parade, Melys, Superdrag, SR-71, The Undertones, The Rezillos, Wilco, Rialto, Weezer, QFX, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Hives...
