Injection Stretch Blowmoulding
This type of moulding is for blowing complicated shapes where perhaps parts have to fit together (for example a bottle with a screw top that has a cap that must fit on). Heated plastic is squirted into a preformed mould, this might be used to get the thread on the bottle exact in size. The plastic now on the preformed mould is then conditioned (heated) and then another mould is put round the plastic and it is blown up. By pressing INFO on the animation you can find out what types of plastics are used and you can scroll down which gives you more information. Pressing on STEP by STEP it explains the process. Well go on then press 'summat'.
