Marketing and Advertising

Marketing and advertising are important parts of product sales. If you make people aware of your product they are more likely to buy it.

In the case of a CD/Game holder a good place to advertise and market the product would be in a store which sells CD's and Games, for example Blockbuster Video. It could be that you would want to give the CD rack away if someone bought a game. It could be that your product is built in units and as someone's collection of games gets bigger it would want to make them buy another CD unit which fixes onto the first and then another to fix onto that. This would be a clever marketing idea because although you have given the first unit away the second and third would have to be bought, and because they all fit together the buyer would have to go back to the original 'give' away.

If the first of the units is sold very cheaply the next ones could be increased in price since the buyer would need one to match the first and have to pay a higher price.

Advertising can be done in many ways.

A person in the town centre giving away leaflets.

A flyer in a popular local newspaper (national newspapers also but they would be more expensive).

Door to door flyers.

Flyers next to the CD's in a store.

Local radio.

Putting up posters in busy places (don't forget they should be simple so busy people don't need to stop to read them).

Then probably the most expensive of all TV.

There are others (smoke writing using aeroplanes, but this list is long enough).
