Bolts
These are used for one of two purposes. To either keep a door such as a garden gate secure, or if fitted to the door of a cabinet with two doors, to prevent opening when the cabinet is locked.

Hasp and Staple
Most commonly used for garage shed and gate doors. They require a padlock to be used with them. The normal hasp and staple can be removed (even if the lock is in place) by taking out the screws on the hasp. The fold

over type is more secure. When the lock is in place the hasp covers all screws so that they cannot be removed, providing a higher degree of security.

Handles
These come in many shapes and sizes to fit special jobs. The main types of fitting are shown but shapes vary so much it is a lot better to look at home and see how handles are made to fit the purpose.

At your bedside cabinet, your kitchen cupboards, your back and front gates, your shed and record as many different types of handle as you can find.
