This
is the classic deck chair mechanism. Don't forget on your preparation
sheet is suggests you look at mechanisms. (You will find mechanisms
here). Well this is one. It is a linkage
system. The three pieces of wood are connected together using
coach
bolts. The rail showing the arrow pulls in and out of little grooves at
the back so the chair can be adjusted to make it more or less upright
depending what you like as a sitting position. |

Yep, also a mechanism. It is also a linkage. This time
it has an extra piece to make the chair have an arm. It also is fixed
together using coach bolts which have been galvanised (Galvanising is
steel coated with Zinc to stop it rusting). See a coach bolt take a look
here. Material certainly beech.
