Roadside Collections

What a load of rubbish. I spy with my little eye the recycle sign. Click here for recycle stuff. What's in that box? Glass, clear plastic bottle, clouded plastic bottle, a can, which looks like a 'tin can', and a newspaper. See below for some ideas on this garbage. Press here to see THERMOPLASTIC animation. Press here to see a THERMOSETTING plastic animation.
Glass - can be recycled by being crushed and then laid on roads to form a very durable and slip resistant surface. Can be turned into new glass products such as bottles.

Clear plastic bottle - Sometimes trays under sweets. Made from PET, (Polyethylene Terephthalate)  large drinks bottles, spring water bottles and so on. A THERMOPLASTIC (Just remember the initials you don't need to remember the Tetraphphphphph- word that nobody can pronounce). BOTTLES ARE MADE BY BLOW MOULDING (go on click it and see)

Cloudy plastic bottles- Milk bottles. Made from HPDE (High Density Polyethylene) initials only required. A THERMOPLASTIC. I bet the recycle box is made of it. The box will be made by INJECTION MOULDING

A 'tin can' - these are older types of can made from mild steel and then coated with a thin layer of tin to stop it rusting.

You can't see an aluminium can in the picture, but these are easily melted down to make new ones. Aluminium comes from a material called Bauxite.

Paper - pulped and re-made into more paper products.
