Novelty Bins

Oh! How cute. If I was trying to encourage children to bin their rubbish I would have a cutie looking bin. If I wanted them to recycle I would have a PICTURE of a CAN and a sign saying  METAL CANS IN HERE, OR PLASTIC BOTTLES IN MY MOUTH or something. This bin looks like it has been INJECTION MOULDED I think this design will have a pull down front for emptying. Look below for some more examples. What sort of plastic might it be made from? My guess would be something like HDPE (high density polyethylene)  Look here for types of plastic and their uses.

This looks like it could be useful as a hinge to the teddy bin. Look inside the bin has easy access for emptying, notice there are two handles to help remove the inner rubbish catcher. It looks to me like the inner bin is galvanised steel. Look here for galvanising. I bet the bin has been injection moulded. Look here for injection moulding. Why do you think the inner bin has got two rings round it? I think it is to strengthen the metal shape so that the metal can be thinner which saves cost and material. How do you think it is fixed together? Try spot welding here

Ribbit, Ribbit, Another little novelty bin. Looks like it might be placed in a pool area. The emptying is made easier again, but this time with a drop down back. Yeah Yeah, HDPE and INJECTION MOULDING.
