Their Deacons and some of their congregation joined Muller Road diaconate and congregation and the church took an additional title, Whitefield Memorial Tabernacle. The pulpit, communion table, pews and organ from the old Georgian Church were incorporated in the building of the sanctuary. The sanctuary is kept apart for worship every Sunday, occasional concerts, special services and periodic ecumenical services.
The one time caretaker's flat is used as offices (Minister and North Bristol Drop in Centre) with kitchen and toilet facilities and a lounge for smaller meetings.
The 1960 premises were altered in 1996 to accommodate a day centre for the ‘Bristol Older Persons Project’ which is a branch of MENCAP. The kitchen was modernised, a tea bar was provided and disabled facilities were provided in all the premises.
In 2006 Mencap left and were replaced by THE NORTH BRISTOL DROP IN CENTRE For people with learning difficulties.
The1933 halls (now renamed Phoenix and small halls respectively) have also been refurbished. The 1960 premises and the 1933 halls are all in regular and full use by our organisations, community meetings and suitable lettings.
