PLEASE NOTE: There are areas at the Cemetery for the disposal of rubbish: the dump, the skip and behind the screen in the left hand corner of the Cemetery. PLEASE PLACE RUBBISH IN ONE OF THESE AREAS. DO NOT DUMP RUBBISH AT THE GATES OR IN ANY OTHER UNAUTHORISED AREA OF THE CEMETERY.

SCAFFOLDING IN ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH:
Some damp has been getting into St. Patrick's Church behind the altar due to defective stonework, especially around the windows. The scaffolding behind the altar has been erected to enable repair work to be carried out.

ST. PIO PRAYER GROUP:
In St. Patrick's Church on Wednesday 13th November at 7.15pm.

ENVELOPE DISTRIBUTORS:
We would like to thank most sincerely all those who helped deliver Offertory Envelopes in the Parish during the past few weeks. Your help is greatly appreciated.

DOWNPATRICK THIRD WORLD GROUP:
Would be pleased to receive any old Irish Currency - punts or coins. Also if anyone would like to make an individual contribution to Malawi they may do so by contacting any member of the group.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS/ READERS OF THE WORD:
A retreat for Ministers of the Word and Eucharistic Ministers will be held on 30th November from 2pm - 5pm. The Retreat will be conducted by Rev. Fr. Leyton S.J.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL:
Donations of good quality winter clothing, toys, household items, furniture large or small is required to maintain the stock in our shops. A collection service is available, to arrange collection contact 028 44616960 for furniture and 028 44614194 for toys, clothing, bric-a-brac etc. Many thanks to all those who continue to support in all aspects of our work.

DIOCESAN HISTORY:
A history of the Diocese of Down & Connor is on sale at the Repository in St. Patrick's, and at the back of the other Churches, cost £10. It contains items on all the parishes in the diocese. There are two entries for Downpatrick, one on the inside of the cover and the other on page 32. We would like to have a good sale of them as we are selling them at cost price.

HABITAT LOOKING FOR HELPING HANDS:
Calling ALL volunteers! Christian housing charity, Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland is looking for people to help build houses at its new project at the Model Farm Estate in Downpatrick. The charity, which helps low-income families build and purchase their own homes at a price they can afford, has already completed two projects in North and West Belfast and recently launched its third project of fourteen houses at the Model Farm site. You don't need any skills or previous experience - just be over sixteen and be willing to get your hands dirty! Saturday, 30th November has been set aside as the day on site for our parish, if you would like to find out more details, please contact Canon Murray at 028 44612443.

MATER HOSPITAL:
The Mater Hospital would like people to write individually to the Minister for Health to protest about the closure of essential services following the petition that was taken up on 20th October. The letters should be sent to: Minister for Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Castle Buildings, Stormont, Belfast, BT4 3SF.


LA SALLE UNION:

WAR ON WANT:
Downpatrick Branch of War on Want invite you to their Coffee Morning in Down Parish Hall (back of Down Recorder) on Friday 15th November 11am to 1pm. Admission £1 including coffee. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

DIOCESAN VOCATION VIGIL:
Will take place in St. Dominic's High School on Friday 15th November 2002 from 8pm - 10pm. The evening will consist of music, prayer, and reflection. Part of it will be led by the Lourdes Diocesan Youth Group. Everyone is welcome, regardless of age. Further details from 028 90619459.

CHOICE WEEKEND:
If you are single (i.e have never been married) and you are in your 20's or 30's why not come along to a CHOICE WEEKEND?
