EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS/ READERS OF THE WORD:
A retreat for Ministers of the Word and Eucharistic Ministers will be held on 30th November from 2pm - 5pm in the Convent of Mercy. The Retreat will be conducted by Rev. Fr. Leyden S.J.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL:
Donations of good quality winter clothing, toys, household items, furniture large or small is required to maintain the stock in our shops. A collection service is available, to arrange collection contact 028 44616960 for furniture and 028 44614194 for toys, clothing, bric-a-brac etc. Many thanks to all those who continue to support in all aspects of our work.

ST. BRIGID'S PRIMARY SCHOOL PTAA:
Invite you to a "Night At The Races" on Friday 29th November in the RGU Clubrooms. First race is at 8.30pm. Everyone welcome.

ST. BRIGID'S CHURCH FUND:
At a function in the RGU in aid of the fund, the very substantial sum of £1430 was raised. We thank the organisers and all those who help and supported them for this great achievement.

DIOCESAN HISTORY:
A history of the Diocese of Down & Connor is on sale at the Repository in St. Patrick's, and at the back of the other Churches, cost £10. It contains items on all the parishes in the diocese. There are two entries for Downpatrick, one on the inside of the cover and the other on page 32. We would like to have a good sale of them as we are selling them at cost price.

HABITAT LOOKING FOR HELPING HANDS:
Calling ALL volunteers! Christian housing charity, Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland is looking for people to help build houses at its new project at the Model Farm Estate in Downpatrick. The charity, which helps low-income families build and purchase their own homes at a price they can afford, has already completed two projects in North and West Belfast and recently launched its third project of fourteen houses at the Model Farm site. You don't need any skills or previous experience - just be over sixteen and be willing to get your hands dirty! Saturday, 30th November has been set aside as the day on site for our parish, if you would like to find out more details, please contact Canon Murray at 028 44612443.

HANDS PILGRIMAGE:

CHARITY CONCERT:
In memory of Brian Grainger. A tribute to commemorate and celebrate his life on Saturday 30th November in Down Cathedral at 8pm. Choir of the Convent of Mercy will perform as well as other well known artists. Proceeds from the event will go to NI Chest, Heart & Stroke Association & Barnardos. Donations at the door. Everyone welcome.

ELECTORAL REGISTRATION FORM:
The Electoral Office will provide a reminder letter this week to those who have not yet returned their Electoral Register Form. The Electoral Registration Form has to be completed and returned to the Electoral Office in Banbridge by Wednesday 20th November. Failure to do so will mean that you will not be on the new register which will be published at the beginning of December, and you will be unable to vote at any forthcoming elections in 2003. Should you have any enquiries about this matter, you should ring the Electoral Office on Banbridge 028 40662857.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS DINNER:
Will be held in the Abbey Lodge Hotel, on Sunday 1st December at 3pm. All Senior Citizens are welcome. If you have not got a ticket and would like to go to the dinner please contact 028 44614194 and leave your name and address, we will then call with you.

DOWNPATRICK THIRD WORLD GROUP:
The Chairperson and members of Downpatrick Third World Group are pleased to announce that for the year ended 04.09.2002, the total amount of £46,154.83 was raised for deserving causes in the under developed countries of the world. This showed an increase of 102 o/o increase on the previous year. The group wish to express their deepest gratitude to their sponsors and supporters for their continued and indeed their increased generosity. During the period we funded a variety of projects in 23 countries (details of which are set out in our financial report) a copy of the report is posted on the church notice boards in all the churches of the parish.
We would also acknowledge an anonymous donation of £1000 for Famine Relief in Ethiopia. This donation has been forwarded to the Medical Missionaries of Mary who are active in Famine Relief Work in that country.
