DIOCESAN FUND RAISING SCHEME:
There will be a meeting of volunteers who are willing to help with the scheme in St. Michael's Parish Centre on Wednesday 8th October at 8pm. We would especially like Link Parishioners to attend as it will coincide with the distribution of Offertory Envelopes in the Parish. It is very important that we have as many volunteers as possible.

DOWNPATRICK THIRD WORLD GROUP:
Meeting in the room below St. Patrick's Church on Wednesday 15th October at 8pm. New members always welcome.


PTAA:
Monthly Meeting in St. Michael's Parish Centre after 7.30pm Mass in St. Patrick's.

THE DIOCESAN MISSION:
There will be a Triduum of Prayer in St. Patrick's Church on Monday 20th, Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd October. "Knowing Christ, Loving Christ, Proclaiming Christ".

LEGION OF MARY:
The Holy Father has dedicated the year 13/10/02 to 13/10/03 to the Family rosary. The year is soon drawing to a close, so the Legion of Mary in Downpatrick has produced a Rosary Leaflet to encourage the renewal of the Family Rosary in the family setting but also as a help to those who would not be familiar with this beautiful prayer. The leaflet will be available at all the Churches in the Parish during the weekend of 11/ 12th October. Please take one home with you and make your best effort to begin praying the Family Rosary.

KILLOUGH ROAD CEMETERY:
There are areas at the Cemetery for the disposal of rubbish: the dump, the skip and behind the screen in the left hand corner of the Cemetery. Please place rubbish in one of these areas. DO NOT DUMP RUBBISH AT THE GATES OR IN ANY OTHER UNAUTHORISED AREA OF THE CEMETERY.

ACCORD PRE-MARRIAGE COURSES:
Accord are holding Pre-Marriage Courses on the following dates: Saturday, 22nd November, 6th December. Places are limited, it is advisable to book early.
Accord are also organising an interchurch pre-marriage course in Belfast on October 19th. Anyone interested should contact Lorna or Maura at 38334781, Monday - Friday 10am to 4pm.

BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE:
A Team from the Blood Transfusion team will hold donation sessions at Down Parish Hall, Church Street, Downpatrick on Monday 6th October from 2.30pm - 4pm & 5.30pm - 8pm. In order to maintain our vital supply of blood to our hospitals, the Blood Transfusion Service need the support not only of existing donors but also new donors. Please come along it could save a life!

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES:
We are currently updating our records for the new collection year which begins in November. If you have recently moved to the parish and require envelopes or live in the parish and do not have envelopes but would like some, please contact 02844612084 or email ppstpatricksdown@aol.com If you already have Offertory Envelopes and have changed address during the year please notify us in your next envelope.

FRIENDS OF CAMPHILL MOURNE GRANGE:
A facility for adults with special needs, are having a Flag Day in Downpatrick on Saturday, 11th October. Please give them your support.


INTERDENOMINATIONAL SERVICE:
Of Thanksgiving for the work carried out in the Downe Maternity Hospital over the past years will be held in the Great Hall, Downshire Hospital on Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. It will be conducted by the hospital chaplains. Everyone is very welcome.

PATRICIAN YOUTH CENTRE:
Present: Foster and Allen in Concert in The Abbey Lodge Hotel, Downpatrick on Friday 31st October. Concert commences at 8.30pm, doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets £15 are available from Hanlon's Music, The Abbey Lodge, and The Patrician Youth Centre.
CHURCH DOOR COLLECTION:
The Youth Centre extends sincere thanks to all parishioners who contributed to the collection last weekend. The amount raised was £1,243. Your support is truly appreciated.
ST. COLMCILLE'S YOUTH CENTRE BALLYVANGE:
The Youth Club re-opens on Monday 6th October at 7pm in Ballyvange Hall with a new autumn/winter programme. The Club is operational on Monday & Wednesday evenings, 7pm - 10pm. Juniors - (age 7 -11 yrs) - 7pm - 8.30pm, and Form 1 upwards 8.30pm - 10pm. Programme includes Multi-sports, Arts & Crafts, Cookery, Quizzes, Music, Monthly Trips and much much more! VINCENT'S CENTRE:
Is situated at 2 - 4 Ballymote Walk. The Centre is run by St. Vincent de Paul and is available for everyones use - young and old alike! There are a wide range of activities on offer for all ages groups, male and female:
Sewing Class on Mondays from 10am - 12 noon (come along and enjoy a laugh and learn to use a sewing machine!)
Homework Club Monday to Thursday from 3pm - 5pm,
Senior Citizens Lunch Club Tuesdays & Fridays 10am to 1pm, (transport available)
Art & Computer Classes on Wednesdays from 10am - 12 noon
Craft Classes (Flower arranging etc) on Thursday Mornings 10am - 12.30pm.

RUSSELL GAELIC UNION:
Thomas Russell Commeration Week-end: Saturday Night - Irish folk Group "Irish Brigade", 9.30pm in the Clubrooms, Admission - Members £4, non-members £5. Wreath laying ceremony at Thomas Russells grave at 2pm on Sunday 5th, followed by one man play based on the last words of Thomas Russell at 4pm in the Clubrooms. Trend will provide the usual Sunday night entertainment.
