2001 questions??????

Not really, but enough for when you are answering it to fell like it!!!

Here we go....
Who do you E-Mail/Instant Messenger (IM)

I can't live with out email or IM and have turned into one of those people who seems to know someone in most countries.. SO... lots not in order of preference, First and most important there is George, who lives in Washington near seattle, He has helped me through lot of life's problems, and thank you very much. James in LA. Also there is Alex in Germany who I always help with problems. Then there is Danny in Amsterdam (generally we bitch men and fashion). I IM everyone above plus and of course piers. Then there's Martin in Oz, I have jenni now in finland and Kelly who we have been kylie mates for over... 13 years near . I always like to catch up things. It is very odd because my core set of friends who I speak to regularly live all around the world.

Are you into fashion, what sort of clothes or fashion do you like best?

I like clothes that look good, are comfortable to wear and make me feel good. Umm nothing special I do like fashion.

What things make you feel different to most people

Being Asthmatic and Dyslexic. They both has stupid stereotypes which are never very relevant to me.

People assume that I when I am ill with asthma I suffer from some sort of horrid wheezing... but the reality is the worst it ever gets is just a cough which is not that distinguishable from most peoples coughs and definitely is not as bad as a smokers cough. Secondly that you can't smoke around me.... I have lived with smokers for up to four years and I have lived on my own, I get just as ill. The only thing is every now and then I have avoid thick acrid smoke like you find in pubs and clubs, I rarely have asthma attacks as well ( I mean maybe once or twice a year) !!! so as you can imagine nothing like what u probably thought. The upside is amount of swimming I do, to keep me well

To say I am dyslexic might mean that people assume that I can't read or write, and in general I am bit dizzy. When I say I can't do maths, all of a sudden you find people trying to count change for me in the shops. The reality is very simple, I can write... otherwise you wouldn't be reading this (but my spelling and grammar can be a bit wobbly), I can read very well and very quickly... but it requires good concentration so I don't do it for leisure and maths... I can't do high level statistics such as binomial distribution and thats it. However I do have a degree and yes I worked hard for that one, in general the only real problem I have is remembering telephone numbers, names and just my spelling..... not really that difficult. The upside is a large IQ (not something I would have measured, but its part of the dyslexic test), a lateral and visual thinking.

OK.... list what you have been in or on

Iain... what with the two i's

Iain pronounced the same as Ian, is a common scottish name. It is a Celtic name having the same meaning as Jon, would have been pronounced in celtic the same as name as Uwan. I am also of the believe that the extra I stands for Intelligence, Interlect, Irresistible and above all INSANE, one out of four isn't bad.

My favorite albums are:-

I am not going to number these as they not really in order of preference

  • Ray of light, Madonna. Karma for my soul.... such an amazing album thats brilliant for life when it gets a lil tense

  • Janet, Janet Jackson. Turn the lights off ... light some candles... it starts with thats way love goes and we will see where it finishes. Funky sexy, romantic album. Theres a book release of this album with a second cd, love the french version of again.100% from start to finish

  • Light years, Kylie Minogue. Another Camp album but this time for the millenium

  • Kylie Minogue, Kylie Minogue. Yes that the white album, if you add on the french version of confide in me, the Japanese extra tracks and stuff released on Hits... it becomes a very sexy album... another turn the lights down album.

What have you done for the environment/reduce global warming.

I lived in a rented flat up until 2007. There's not much you can do in rent flat, but we recycled as much as possible and changed the light bulbs. In 2007, we brought our home. A 3 bedroom semi detached house. The only thing that the house had that was green was a grade A gas condensing hot boiler with a thermostat. So here's what we did:

    1. Replaced all the light bulbs with energy efficient ones. This cost me less the £10 and we have a three bedroom house. It worked out to our advantage as some of the light fittings had a max of 40 watts, but it has meant that we can use a 60 watt equivalent bulbs which are lighter and obviously we saved
    2. In early December we had the house insulted, both roof and walls. You may find this odd but the previous owners moved because the house was cold, but only part of the loft had insulation ironically only the parts that no one lived under and this was about as thick as a daily news paper. Of everything this cost as the most as it was about £200. On Christmas day during the day we had to turn the heating off as the oven was causing the house to get too hot.
    3. We already had an A+ washing machine; we then got an A+ dishwasher.
    4. The next thing we did was look at the windows. The house had double glazing, but one of the windows had blown (you can normally see this by condensation appearing in the window). I didn't know until we had it replaced but a blown window means that you may as well be using single glazing for the whole window. We had the hinges repaired on some windows that had drafts... blown window replacement £30. Hinges... £20.5) We had thermostatic valves fitted on the radiators, because after the insulation we found the house was getting warmer upstairs, £70 for the plumber £20 valve... worth it.
    5. Our street already had recycling, paper, glass, tin, plastics (only 1 and 2 at the moment). We got compost for a whopping £15.

So here's what we found. Our house has never got below 18oc. Even when the outside temperature got below -6oc. We have had to reduce the amount of time the heating comes on because it heats the house up to quickly. The heating is on far less.

    Whats the doctor who connection

This bit is really for doctor who and applies to both me and my sister, The house I grew up in, is over the road from the house that Jon Pertwee grew up in. Secondly Ms Aldread was the headmistress at my primary school, she was the mother (although step) of Sophie Aldread who played the doctors assistant to sylvester mccoy. Sophie also presented Corners and much was filmed at Keston school, but fortunately none of me!!! Ms Aldread was remembered by my family as being a headmistress who had matching handbags, skirts tights and shoes. So red hand bag, shoes and tights and then the next day green handbag shoes etc!!! Very camp. I like doctor who.

    11. Why do people find it so hard to admit they made a mistake... especially at work?

    What about your job?

Previously I used to work for an AIDS charity for four years as the website manager, which was good at the start and allowed me to be open and honest about my life, however at the end I really wanted out, it had to got the point I dreaded going to work. I don't thing I will ever work for a small company/charity again. One thing I strive to do now is make sure that the two charities I am Trustee for, are nothing like the one I used to work for.
