CATHY DENNIS

Cathy Dennis was the music I used to like listening to when I was 14 and since then I never stopped. This lady is the only lady that I can happily say that I own all of her collection on cd and I am now starting to collect and ever increasing cd collection which is important. The marriage of british music (especially dmob) and such a pop diva (with a touch of an english rose to her) was magically and the music is true english dance music to the extreme and something special. Mainly I like this music because it reminds me of my life when I was carefree and could really enjoy music, with no questions asked at 16 and also because it the music that you really hear on the scene and so here is something that I listen to without constantly having to hear the same songs over and over again. I don't know much about this lady it is rare for her to gives an interview and is very difficult to get hold of such information.

Cathy's first album "move to this" was an international hit selling well in Europe, Australia, and the US. Her second album "Into the Skyline" did not yield the same success as her previous album. A third album was written with Todd Terry called "Inspiration" was half finished and then shelved (only SOS has been released)so that cathy could work on her last album "Am I am that kinda girl". The album was a combination of the best selling singers of the 80's with one of the best selling men of the 60's, containing music inspired by the kinks and continuing some very matures songs. The music style has changed to being very much english rock pop and my favorite singles off the album are Fickle, Waterloo sunset. Also she managed by the ever incredible and amazing simon who used to manage the spice girls and Annie lennox. Cathy is amazingly talented woman, with her last album being created almost solely by herself. She has had huge chart success in the usa with her first two albums and so on. Cathy is now getting the full credit for her music abilities which are excellent to say the least

Cathy's last single was released in 1997 and although it seems quite for her solo release front. Her greatest hits was released in 2000 called "irrestible"then went on to write "bumper to bumper", the b-side to The spice girls huge "Wanna be". Cathy has also be writing for S-Club 7 and co-wrote there No.1 Hit "one in a million" and a large amount of there album she even sings backing vocals on some of the tracks.

In 2001, a new cathy written song was sung by Kylie Minogue called "Can't get you out of my head" on her intimate and live tour (having also previously written and sung backing vocals on "Loves on every corner" for Dannii Minogue). The song has been selected to be Kylie's first single release of her album "Fever". The single is Kylie's largest selling single to date, being number 1 for three weeks in UK and Australia. The album "fever" has further two more cathy penned singles "Come In To My World", "Dancefloor", and "Come In To My World" she sings backing vocals. The comparison between her work with S-Club 7 and Kylie, shows that Cathy has a large scope in writing ability

Perhaps one of the most frustrating things for Cathy fans is, that cathy record most songs she has written as demos. She also has a few finished tracks, but she has no plans to release them. We also have never had a dvd release

Some of the album covers above will take you to amazon where you can buy then items

Cathy is making singing comeback! She has signed a record deal with her band Sexcassettes, which she plans to release the first single, "Killer Love" expecting in 2009.
