Madonna
I haven't really finished this page, as I run out of things and pictures to put on

I can't remember the time when I first heard Madonna, because Madonna presence was around way before I could remember, but I do know what started it all and why I am such a huge fan. My next door neighbors Matthew and Daniel were fans and they constantly played the stuff . The image of her early music was always around Daniel bedroom and so I pretty much picked up on it from them. Also my mum's friend June's daughter was a very big fan of Madonna she had both albums and would constantly dress up like Madonna, full on lace lycra leggings, the lot. So the stage was set really for me to become a huge fan and so I have been for years.

My firsts real venture in to Madonna came with the release of True Blue. I brought the album on vinyl and that marked the beginning on collection that has remained almost intact and perfect till today. I don't know what I saw in her at that age, it was well before I had any idea of what sex was or sexuality or being sexy. I suppose what really as the main attraction to me was them mixture of the pop dance music with a serious meaning, touch of star quality and glamour, plus all that dancing and my local neighbor hood constantly banging on about her must have kept me going. Also it was helped by the fact that my mother was/is a very big fan of La Isla bonita.

It was at this point that she took a break from her career and I entered into the early year of my teenage hood. (1988 and still not really into Madonna, she released like a prayer and although like the title song, I wasn't very impressed until she released "Express yourself". It arrived at the time when I was just coming to terms with the fact that I was gay and seemed to be full of emotional terms and meaning that is relevant to my life. Especially just the title "express yourself". also the video was very raunchy and at the time I was very jealous of the fact that she was allowed to be raunchy and I couldn't so, At this time I ventured went on camping trip with a bunch of girls and this album was played almost constantly all the way through. I feel in love it the video for Dear jessie. This was to be my first album of Madonna that was brought on CD. "Oh father "was a song that helped me to get though a lot of homophobia and helped me get through a lot bullying.

Next came the arrival of vogue. That song hit me in the face. many people took the mickey of me at this point for liking the woman and then this song came out and it made the whole school just stand still and change their opinion. What was more here I was doing a song that was very widely published as a gay song and dancing with bunch of gays. This meant a lot to me
at the time. Also the release of "in bed with Madonna" or "truth or dare "was another encouraging film at the the time because I had finally decided I was gay to my myself but I wasn't going to tell anyone that I was gay (Unless I meet Madonna). This was further pushed forwarded by the fact the release of the immaculate collection and "justify my love", which became one of my favorite albums not to mention the video for the song.

The next song that meant a lot to me was "This used to be my playground" it was the first film that Madonna released that I saw in the cinema. The song received an official approval by my sister, something that has never been given out to any other Madonna songs since.

Christmas eve was spent alone in 1991 (a lot to do with bullying and homophobia) and so I spent it falling deeper and deeper into Madonna's blonde ambition. Something that I wasn't allowed to go and see and was being broadcast on the BBC at 12:00 midnight, something that meant that I enjoyed Christmas eve like I had never enjoyed it before.

The release of Erotica the single and the video coincided the same week with something that happened in my life at the point, that marks the end of a boy child hood and the start of being an adult male. To this day I still can not look at the video or hear the song without actually blushing or bring a smile to my face. This was also the point that I came out. I remember walking
into a pub in Earls court London. I walked very nervously to bar expecting to be chucked out of the bar, sat at the end of the bar and ordered a drink. They started to play "justify my love", I looked around the bar and most of the men and women seemed to beings singing along. I knew then that I found a bunch of people that I here familiar and I new that I had found home.

Pretty much here was where Madonna had the most obvious influence. Coming out introduce me to the night clubs and the videos and songs of "fever" and "deeper and deeper" were important to me. I was very quick at shedding the image of a shy boy to what ever it is that I look now. I like the album erotica very much, especially for the song about aids, which is subject
that I have learned to understand and campaign very much about. I celebrated my 19th birthday by buying a video and the sane day I brought the girlie show video was another important thing for me. I was able to buy it before hand as my parents said that it was not suitable and also I wasn't allowed to see the concert as I wasn't old enough.

The release of Bedtime stories got em out of bed 9:00 Monday morning to go to album shop to buy it. The man at virgin as awaiting for me, said "love, keep  this one under the counter for you". The album gave me two singles which where just amazing one was the title track that has been my inspirational song, helping me to concentrate and relax. The video that puts me another world and is today one of my favorite videos and is the type of image that I see Madonna signing whenever I see her perform. "Don't stop which was another great song of mine, keeping my spirits up when time has been time has been tough. And also "take a bow " which a the first Madonna ballad that I really enjoyed.

I went to Uni and discovered a large amount of Madonna fans and so on the arrival of "something to remember" was shared with lots of friends. Special moments like traveling into town to buy the single for everyone. Awaking up early on a Monday morning to find the radio copy of "one more chance" recorded for me and shoved under the door by my flat mates. The day that Madonna performed on Top of the pops and how I had three people recording it around the university halls of residence. Most importantly I meet one of my closet Madonna friends who is a huge Madonna fan Ross Mitchell. He accompanies around record fairs, gives me as much help as possible when it comes to the two of us enjoy one lady.

Madonna was brilliant in Evita. I am now the proud owner of that film on DVD.

Then came her last album called "ray of light" which is easily her best album to date and I couldn't believe how good it all is!!!!!!!! I love the video to nothing really matters, which over time became one of best songs of the whole album, but here she proved that she could produce a dance album with some balads!!!

She recently has gone on to release the brilliant beautiful stranger and the brilliant American pie and..... a new album is due in  the summer
