WeBL Prediction Contest Rules.
The Scoring of the fights will be as follows:
Call the correct winner of the fight AND the correct round = 10 Points.
Call the correct winner by decision victory = 6 Points. Please Note - If you call a 12 round decision win and the fight ends in Round 10 or Round 11 on a stoppage, this DOES NOT count as a near miss.
Call the correct winner and near miss (out by 1 round either side) = 5 Points.
Call the correct winner and near miss (out by 2 rounds either side) = 3 Points.
Call ONLY the correct winner of the fight = 2 Point.
Call the losing fighter = -3 Points.
Calling the draw = 15 Points (In the case of calling the draw, you will lose just 1 point if the fight is not drawn)
The
highest scoring player or players (in the case of a tie) will be awarded a
5 point bonus
on that week.
1)
The tournament will run for 12
rounds and will consist of 3 fight predictions each round, this is a total of
36 fights that will be predicted on.
2)
You can only predict on a maximum
of 30 of the available 36 fights that are selected for prediction, the total of
fights you have predicted and the total of fights that you have left for
prediction will be displayed on the leaderboard on my website. This gives you
the option of missing out a fight you don’t like the look of or a fight in
which you are unfamiliar with the contestants, thus making the contest slightly
fairer. There is no minimum of fights you have to predict on but obviously the
less fights you predict on then the less points are available to you.
3)
Each player will receive ONE Joker
to play during the contest, when playing your Joker you will receive DOUBLE
points for that fight, However should you pick the wrong winner in a fight that
you play a Joker you will be deducted 5 points.
4)
Each player will receive ONE
Wildcard to play during the contest, when playing the Wildcard you will receive
an EXTRA 10 points (ie, if
you predict a decision victory for Fighter A and Fighter A wins on points, you
will receive 6 Points AND a further 10 Points for playing the Wildcard)
However playing a Wildcard and selecting the wrong fighter will result in
you being deducted 5 points.
5)
The thread for the coming weeks
fight predictions will be displayed on the WeBL boxing forum on the Monday
previous to that weeks fights, I will need to have ALL the predictions in by
around 8 PM
(UK TIME) This is I believe (3 PM for most of the USA and Canada) on the Saturday
that the fights take place. I will however post on the WeBL forum, once the
thread for predictions has closed.
6)
You may predict on the fights in 2
ways, option 1 is to simply leave your prediction on the WeBL Boxing forum
thread or, option 2 is if you wish your prediction to remain confidential then
you may send me your prediction Via Email…At 8 PM (UK Time) on the day of the
fights I will post ALL the predictions for that week on the forum.
7)
At the end of the competition I
will provide the highest scoring TWO players with prizes which will be one of the
following…A video of fights (all of which will be selected by the winner, you
may pick ANY fights you can think of and I will fill 2, three hour videos, 12 hours if
you have a video with twin speed facility) Alternativley I will make a short
list of hard cover books and some framed boxing prints which you may then choose from.
