Edward MacKay Ltd is committed to providing a fully trained, efficient and adaptable workforce and to this end a rotational training programme has been implemented. This encompasses all aspects such as First Aid, CPCS skilled operatives certificates, New Roads and Streetworks Supervisors and Operators combined with Company objectives, policies and statements.

All levels of staff are encouraged to integrate freely with senior management to promote a close knit environment which leads to an excellent Safety Culture and communication and understanding of policies. The rewards to both employer and employee are readily identifiable due to this view of a multi-skilled workforce coupled with the amassed experience and expertise of long serving employees.

 


Over 80% of the workforce have more than fifteen years employment and indeed the workforce at one time consisted of five sets of father and sons, one set father and daughter, and one three generation link of grandfather, father and son.

With the very low turnover of personnel, potential trainees are hand picked at senior management level and can progress through the company as aptitude befits.

Disputes, strikes and industrial action are non-existent within company history.

In 1999 the company presented itself for, and was awarded, Investor in People status. Edward Mackay Limited are also accredited firm to ISO 9001:2000, audited by BSI.
