Scottish Archaeology Month

Sunday 16th September

On Sunday 16th September the Society participated in this national event, organised by the Council for Scottish Archaeology. Our event, the Lanark and District Archaeological Roadshow aimed to explain the history and archaeology of Lanark and surrounding district. There were a number of activities including a touch table, courtesy of Biggar Museum Trust, and opportunities to try bronze age spinning and pottery making. Displays described the work of the Society and detailed the excavation of the Friary in Lanark and detailed the ongoing Mills Survey.
