Lanark Related Websites

The Royal Burgh of Lanark Museum has been establish for over 10 years and works to preserve and present the history of the town. This year exhibition is open 10am-4pm on Fridays and Saturdays and details the history of the town through two millennia. The Friends of the museum works to support the museum.

Societies

Lanark District Archaeological Society is a very active society whose excavations are described in their website.

The Clydesdale International Twinning Association is an active organisation with twin towns in France and Germany.

The Dante Alighieri Society exists to spread the knowledge of Italian language and culture.

Music in Lanark, formerly Lanark Music Club strives to bring a wide variety of live music to the town, and fosters the the ongoing music scene in the town, particularly with young musicians.

ALVO is rural South Lanarkshire's Council for Voluntary Service. It is a voluntary organisation, drawing its membership from voluntary and community groups, and working to support and facilitate the development of the voluntary sector throughout the area.

2nd Lanark Scouts. There are five sections to the 2nd Lanark Group; Beaver's, Cub's, Scout's, Explorer's and Scout Network.

Clyde Valley Cat Rescue are a Lanark based organisation working to help cats without homes.

Church

The Presbytery of Lanark caters to the pastoral needs of many Lanarkians.
