home The Venue

We are very lucky, and honoured, to be getting married in the Chapel of St John's College. St John's, which was founded in 1511 by Lady Margaret Beaufort, is the second largest college in Cambridge and one of the most beautiful. The Chapel, designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, is the spiritual heart of the College.

The University Arms Hotel is situated on Regent Street in Cambridge, approximately a 10 minute walk from the College through the historic City Centre.

If you would like to take some time to explore the city, your first stop should be the Tourist Board. If you'd like to find out what's on, you might try looking at the Cambridge Search Engine. Or alternatively you may wish to pray for good weather on 9th August! If you don't believe the forecast, take a look at a live picture.

Travel Information

However you are travelling to Cambridge, you will hopefully find the maps enclosed with your invitation to be useful. If you need further detail, try here. If you are travelling by car, you will need to use the city centre car parks, or perhaps check the traffic before you start your journey.

If you are travelling by rail, you may wish to check the timetable. The railway station is on the south-eastern edge of the city centre: we recommend that you take a short bus or taxi ride rather than attempting to walk!
