The Club meets on Mondays from 7.00 pm until 10.00 pm (juniors 7 pm until about 8.30 pm) between mid-September and the end of May.

Lanarkshire League home matches start at 7.30 pm.

If travelling from the west come through the town and at the traffic lights at the top of the High Street take the right fork into Bannatyne Street. On the left about 150 metres beyond the traffic lights you will pass the railway station, about 75 metres further on the entrance to St Mary's is on the right opposite the bus terminus.

Going through the gates the church is about 75 metres immediately ahead, the club rooms are in a separate building to the right of the church. There is ample parking in the church grounds.

all welcome

Players of all ages and all standards are most welcome at the Club. Just come along on a Monday evening or contact Club Secretary Tom Brown - details in the contacts section. Juniors are particularly welcome. We have an active junior section with a dedicated coach who looks after and teaches our young players.

The Club is a Chess Scotland member.

activities

In addition to playing friendly games adult members compete for the Club Championship or the Challengers Trophy and junior members for the Hunter Kennedy shield. We play competitive matches against other clubs; we have three teams playing in the Lanarkshire League, two in the first division and one in the second division, and a team in division two of the Scottish National League.

Lanark Chess Club is grateful to Cargill House Club, which has provided us with excellent facilities in their premises for a number of years.
