This is me folks on the day they picked me up
from Scotland - eight weeks old - and I still like the middle of kitchen
rolls to chew even now at 12!! They had chosen a different name for
me, but with a 'proper name' of Stallone, what else could they call me but
Rocky.
I was getting a bit older by this time - nearly
six months - even now I still act that age. A judge the other week
after asking my age and being told 11 - said "Sure you don't mean 11
months". They have a few nicknames for me - one of which is
Bark-a-Lot - flipping cheek I say, just because I bark in the show ring.
As you can see I turned into a very handsome lad
- that's my other nickname by the way "Handsome Boy" and I
answer to that one!!! I was about 9 when this picture was taken, how
I managed to keep my looks with the Dynamic Duo around (that's
'The Girls' as they call them) I'll never know. But
you can judge for yourself. I used to go to Exemption Shows and won
lots of 1st prizes for Handsomest Dog - some judges just know what to look
for!!!
I was a very energetic dog (when I wasn't asleep
that is!!) and they took me off to Obedience and Agility. Loved
Agility, I could jump better than Dad and when they let me on the long
jump I could whizz off to see all my other friends around the ring - he
didn't stand a chance against my speed!! Obedience - what a cheek -
do I look as if I needed that??
This is me with my friend Mitzi when I was just
over two and she was six. She was waiting for me when I came home at
eight weeks and was missing my Mum - but not for long. She
was an excellent teacher, and between us we taught them young rascals
Kallie and Chloe all they know.
I've retired now from the Show Ring, although I was only very lightly
shown I did reasonably well - especially as a Veteran and Vintage - but
it's great fun to laugh at The Girls getting
bathed. Hold on a minute .... I can hear Dad
calling me ..... and he's running the shower!!!!
