'New' applicants for membership may, by convention, play up to 4 games for the Club (subject to selection) before having their subscription cheque cashed or being invited to pay the subscription. This is to give both the Club and the applicant the opportunity to assess whether playing membership is appropriate and satisfactory for all concerned. The applicable match fee is payable by the applicant for participation in any such games.
