Bob (Michael Rooker), an ex-cop, is unwillingly brought into a Mob/Mafia war when he thwarts a bank robbery. He is taken to the precinct, where Chelsea (Danielle) his daughter comes to pick him up as usual. Koji (Ryo Ishibashi) is also taken in for questioning after "taking into his own hands" the poor attempt of the Pyscho (Bobcat Goldthwait) to take hostage a restaurant that incidentally belongs to one of the big Mob bosses. Chelsea meets Koji while she is waiting for her dad to be brought out, and not taking crap from anyone, the strong-minded girl she is, she smacks a guy for asking her if she was a prostitute, then asks Koji is he wants some. During questioning Koji is about to be exposed as an affiliate of the Yakuza (Mafia), he breaks out of the precinct, and as Bob and Chelsea are arguing outside he takes Chelsea hostage in exchange for a ride. (Though he never intends to harm her.) This is a pretty fun unconventional buddy flick. Chelsea, whose parents are divorced, is in-between rebelling for a cause and for no cause simultaneously. (There is a incredibly similar relationship between Darian, her character in "The Last Boy Scout" and Chelsea. Though, that is okay, anything to get my Dani fix.) Both characters feel their father has been inadequate to say the least, although Darian's parents are only on the verge of divorce they should just as well be as Chelsea's parent's already are. Both characters are wearing make-up against the better wishes of their fuck-up father. (Although we know deep down the fathers are Good and when they are not they are trying.) Both characters are handy with the tongue sword, are associated with prostitution, and are placed in someone else's care before the climactic action finale. Equally, both characters leave the care of their "baby-sitter" and put themselves in the middle of the danger.
