I apologise for the lack of updates to IKnowSeries of late, but I've been extremely busy working on Chiller, another project of mine. Anyhow, here is some news regarding I Know 3! Jennifer Love Hewitt spoke of the possibility of her returning to the "slasher movie" scene as almost nonexistent when she was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly today. When asked if she was done with slasher movies, Love replied...

"Yeah. And I hope my fans agree. I'm kind of at a weird age in the entertainment industry. It's like when you're 13, that's another weird age because they'll hire the 18 year olds to play your parts since they can work longer hours. You're stuck in the middle. I want to do My Best Friend's Wedding kind of movies, and you can't if people still consider you the "teen scream queen" type. That's why my roles as Audrey Hepburn [in the TV biopic] and in Heartbreakers and The Devil and Daniel Webster are characters that allowed me to be a little older."

No doubt this news will break many I Know... fans hopes that she would return for a third encounter with Ben Willis, but I guess we'll all just have to attempt to move on with ours lives somehow... ;)

OCTOBER 13TH, 2000.
Well, here's the deal - for the past few weeks I have been hearing no end of rumors stating that "Jennifer Love Hewitt and Muse Watson are in talks about returning to the series" to "Brandy is desperately trying to contact Love about IK3" etc, and it was getting pretty tedious and tiresome. So your trusty IKnowSeries.com webmaster has once again taken things into his own hands and got down to the bottom of it all for you. I contacted Muse Watson (known mainly as "Ben Willis" to his fans) with a number of questions regarding what is happening around IK3. Here's what he had to say:

IKnowSeries.com: Are you still in talks with executives etc (if you ever were!) to try to bring back the surviving characters for the third movie?
Muse: Never was.

IKnowSeries.com: Have you been in contact with Love Hewitt at all (to pursuade her in any way to return for IK3)?
Muse: No.

IKnowSeries.com: Any word on the cast & story at the present time for the third movie?
Muse: In my mind there is no third movie. If the script is different and the characters are different...then it is the first movie of it's series...not the third one of ours. If Ben ain't there ..... then they don't "Know". Tell your readers that I spoke with "Ben" and he is not happy. They can make up their own rumors about what he might do.

So now it is well and truly final : MUSE WATSON AND LOVE HEWITT (AND SUBSEQUENTLY THEIR CHARACTERS) ARE TO HAVE NO PART IN IK3. Please do not send in any more rumors stating that they really are, because "Ben" has spoken, and he ain't happy!

SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2000.
Jennifer Love Hewitt has confirmed, in a recent interview with 'Moviehole', that she will not be taking part in I Know What You Did Last Summer 3. When asked if she was surprised that the next Summer film would have an all new cast... Hewitt answered, "Well, not really. I found out about it not too long ago... and I think it will be exciting to see what happens in the 3rd I Know... I can't wait to see it."

Well, the IKnowSeries.com section dedicated solely to the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer 3 has been launched, and if I do say so myself it's looking pretty good. This page will not be an updates page, all updates will be placed on the main page of this section, I just wanted to let readers know that I am going to recap on all the news regarding IK3 that has been reported here as it is the first post.

Simon Davis Barry [writer of Art of War] has penned a script based on his own ideas for I Know 3, according to Variety. Neal Moritz, Stokely Chaffin, and Erik Feig, who co-produced the first two movies in the franchise, will all return to produce the sequel. The producers told Variety that a third I Know movie was never planned, but things changed when Barry pitched his idea, which Columbia Pictures bought in a second.

Reportedly, the tone of the sequel will be different than the others in the series. I Know 3 will supposedly be different in that it aims to be a morality tale that returns to the roots of the horror genre without elements of comedy or camp.
