I Know What You Did Last Summer cut scenes taken from an original second draft of the script by Kevin Williamson, dated December 2nd, 1996.
CUT SCENE #1
This scene takes place directly after Helen's been awarded Croaker Queen at the Southport Beauty Pageant, before Julie and Helen emerge from the bathrooms and bump into Max. Barry boasts to Ray about his new "2.8 Liter, 6 cylinder, 190 Horse power" Beamer.

CUT SCENE #2
This scene takes place after Barry and Max have had a fight over Max "pestering" Julie, and before the scene(s) at Dawson's Beach. Barry drives the four friends to Dawson's Beach, he is drunk, and he almost sends the car sailing off the cliff at Reaper's Curve.

CUT SCENE #2.5
This is an important scene that would have added even more suspense to the "dumping the body" scene at the beginning of the movie. When Helen and Barry push the body into the ocean Barry is forced to jump in after him to retrieve Helen's crown, however the 'under water' events differ from the final cut.

CUT SCENE #3
This scene is a kind of extension of the scene when Barry confronts Max at the Ice House, where Barry threatens Max with the hook. When Barry leaves, Max turns round to see the/a Fisherman standing in the doorway behind him.

CUT SCENE #4
This is a short scene involving Barry and his parents after he has been run over by the fisherman. No one believes that he was attacked, but that it was an attempted suicide.

CUT SCENE #5
This is another short scene involving a character and their parents. It takes place before Helen goes up to her room where the Fisherman is hiding, and is basically just Helen talking to her mother.

CUT SCENE #6
This is a different version to the "morning after the night before" when Helen wakes up to find all of her hair has been chopped off. Her mother [a character that was completely deleted in the final cut] and Elsa come running in, and that is why Helen smashes the mirror; to shield the message from anyone else.

CUT SCENE #7
Another "alternate" version involving members of Helen's family. The four friends discuss 'Billy Blue', and they confront Elsa about David Egan before she rushes off to work.

CUT SCENE #8
This is how Kevin Williamson originally envisioned Helen Shivers' chase (and ultimately, death) scene. It is quite similar to the final cut, but the time spent in the police car is longer, and Helen's final moment is different.

ORIGINAL ENDING SEQUENCE
This scene was completely deleted and replaced by the infamous "shower scene". Julie is on her computer [chatting to Ray] at college a year later when she gets an invitation to a pool party. Then she receives an e-mail on her computer which reads "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!"
