Future designers and students
with an awareness of history and technology should be able to
acquire the skills and experiences through others in education
and industry and with their own intuition and training go on to
produce relevant designs for the present century. Education in
aesthetics is invaluable in empowering consumers in making responsible
judgements in a consumer society.
The context for design activity is world resources availability
and the consequences of human uses of materials and disposal in
the eco-system. The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) reports that
" - we are continuing to use up the world's resources faster
than they can be naturally replenished."
