Receive good advice about
potato propagation, slightly edited for publication:
"Please
be careful. Exchange of germplasm between breeders or scientists
is always done according to the quarantine rules of EU. For me
it is a huge problem to exchange breeding lines with my colleagues
at SCRI. A large amount of money is required to perform all tests
on quarantine diseases. Specifically the UK takes a unique position
within the EU. They are on an isolated island and like rabies
they try to avoid import of diseases from the Continent.
If you import, please be aware of doing illegal things. . . .
Do not take potatoes grown for consumption, but official seed
potatoes with health certificates from the seed producer."
