THE RUGBY LEAGUE CONFERENCE

The Rugby League Conference is a summer competition that was first set up with just nine Clubs outside of the traditional North of England base. There were 30 teams Nationwide for the 2001 season. Ipswich Rhinos are one of the original founding teams.

The 2001 Conference comprised of six regional divisions. In addition to playing the other teams in their division, each team played four "crossover" games - i.e. two home and two away game against teams from another division. For the 2001 season, Ipswich played Oxford and West London, home and away as their crossover games. At the end of the season a play-off series took place between the two top placed teams in all divisions, culminating in the Grand Final.
