Conor Academy teams up with the BBC's Buzzcocks

|
The Conor Academy of Irish Dancing have just completed filming at the studios of Talkback Productions in London, for the recording of the cult BBC2 Pop Quiz show, "Never Mind the Buzzcocks". Talkback Productions is one of the UK's leading independent production companies and part of the RTL Group, who provide television content to the BBC, and others.
The Conor Academy provided just 15 seconds of dancing during the show. Bridie Willis, Artistic Director and Tutor of the Academy said, "We are very pleased to be associated with Talkback and the BBC. This is a very small appearance for us so don't blink or you'll miss us". The show will be transmitted in May. "We had a great time", said Bridie, "Things went extremely well - although one of the girls fell during rehearsal damaging her ankle - but like a true professional, she continued "The Show MUST go on" and all that... I think the girls were all in awe of the people and the studio setting - Mark Lamarr is particularly funny... We also bumped into Eamon Holmes in the corridor (who was there for the lottery prog) and Gerry Hall (who was preparing for The Johnny Vaughn show that night) and saw many other familiar faces in the bar afterwards".

The Comedy music quiz "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" has just finished transmitting its tenth BBC2 series, although will be back for a 'special' show in May. As always, Mark Lamarr is in charge, taking cicious side-swipes at pop's false idols. Team captains are Sean Hughes (for his last every show) and Phill Jupitus will battle to extract some kind of musical knowledge from their teams whilst facing such rounds as `Indecipherable Lyrics', `Do the Intro' and trying not to be too dazzled by the 'ID Parade' appearances of pop's former greats.
