How to Use This Site
Finding Families and Individuals
There are two ways to find a particular family or individual:
- Select a particular family branch directly from the surnames index (also available from the Surnames button on the navigation bar). Select the surname in the index that is of interest and follow the links to the different family members.
- Select a paternal ancestor directly from the Paternal Ancestry Index.
- Select a maternal ancestor directly from the Maternal Ancestry Index.
Traversing Family Trees
Some of the boxes on the family trees have shaded backgrounds (light blue for male and purple for female). You can traverse backwards and forwards through the generations by clicking one of the shaded boxes.
The diagram below illustrates the effect of clicking on a shaded box.
Accessing External Links
I have included links to external sites for the purposes of reference, interest and further reading. After following an external link, if you wish to return to my web site just use the Back button of your browser.
If you would like to keep my site available whilst viewing the external site you can achieve this with the following technique:
- Right-click on the link you wish to open in a new window. This will display what is called a context menu.
- From the context menu click on the option
and the link will open in a new window.
This technique can be used whenever you would want more than one web page open at the same time, regardless of whether they are on the same or different sites.
