Renovation of 1932 Talbot 14/45

BODYWORK  -  Doors

note drain holes through the new ash bottom rail and note excellent condition of original skin

new lower skin in galvanised sheet, joggle-welded in place after wheeling to shape

some of the door furniture - note the undamaged bakelite

much of the ash frame needed replacement in windscreen/door pillar area

same bits assembled

re-skinning pillars (zinc-sprayed)

Spencer says the body is ready for paint

done, now for the roof

the large sliding sun-roof adds a lot of work and cost in leather (Fairweather Restorations)

front wing after repair by Nick Parravani's Competition Fabrications

and painting by Stephen Foster (who now works at Omicrom)

solid running boards

new floor components made

and fitted

(new dash-panel had to be made and etched as the original had shrunk snapping off corners)

the end is in sight
