During
the last two years, John has twice been nominated for national awards for
his productions of Into the Woods and Cabaret,
has directed the Coventry Cycle of Mystery
Plays in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral, Much Ado About Nothing
in Kentucky, USA, The Trojan Women and Caryl Churchill's
Fen
in Birmingham,
Ring Round The Moon in London, Moll
Flanders at Salisbury Playhouse, and The Wizard of Oz, Irma
La Douce and Sinbad at the
Watermill Theatre, Newbury. Also
has recently staged The Story of Christmas
for the Salvation Army at Wembley and Looking
Back to the Future for Zurich International as the inaugural event
at the new Congress Centre in Lucerne.

London
work includes Dario Fo's Female Parts at the Arts Theatre, Sondheim's
You're
Gonna Love Tomorrow at the Palace, a highly popular Midsummer
Night's Dream at Regent's Park, and a revival of Bells are Ringing
at Greenwich. Foreign work includes the European premiere of Drving
Miss Daisy in both Zurich and Vienna, and a production of Gypsy
which won the Irish Times award for Best Musical.
John
has co-written the newly-published Shakespeare
for Dummies as part of the highly successful "?..For Dummies" series
of books.
Future
engagements include a Year 2000 production of The Passion in Greenwich
Park, and directing Carmen for the Watermill Theatre Newbury.
