PANTEG STEELWORKS
The demolition of the Panteg Steelworks Casting Plant was carried out starting summer 2000 and completed in April 2001.
The project entailed the removal of all plant and equipment, the complete demolition of all buildings on the site and disposal of the downtakings.

The buildings were demolished by conventional means utilising our fleet of excavators, including high reach, with grab, shear, breaker and bucket attachments. Wire pulling of some of the buildings after pre-weakening by hot cutting was used to achieve some of the larger collapses.

With the buildings demolished to ground level the groundworks squad took over. All the foundations and floorslabs were lifted and the concrete crushed to provide bottoming. This was used to landscape the site ready for future development.
