REGISTERING

QUESTION. Is the registration process secure?
ANSWER.
The online registration process is provided by Active.com.

Active.com uses a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information.

Credit card numbers are encrypted in a secure database that is located behind a firewall. All personal information collected on Active.com is stored in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public. All credit card information supplied by users is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Technical Note You may not see the padlock symbol you are used to seeing on secure sites. This is because the entry system is operating within a frame in our overall site. If you hover your cursor over the Enter link on the left, and look at the bottom of your browser, you should see the address being loaded, beginning with https:// This indicates a secure link.

QUESTION. How will I know if my registration is successful?

ANSWER.
After submitting your payment for registration your request will be processed. This may take several moments. Once the transaction is completed, a screen will appear that notifies you that the registration was successful or that more information is needed.

If successful, this confirmation screen will include a link which you can click for more information about your registration and a Registration ID (confirming your registration and transaction).

You will also receive an e-mail confirmation soon after you submit your registration.

This e-mail has a link to a printable receipt - we recommend you keep a copy of this receipt for your records.

This e-mail and others are sent to the address entered in the individual’s registration form. Payment re-confirmations go to the person who processed the registration(s). The e-mails are automatically sent by our system and should be delivered barring any unforeseen technical problem.

QUESTION. What is an affiliated or un-affiliated entry?

ANSWER.
If you are a member of a club that it is affiliated to UK Athletics, then you can enter as affiliated. If you are not, then you must enter as un-affiliated.

QUESTION. What details do I need to provide if I am entering as affiliated?

ANSWER.
If you enter as affiliated, you must provide the name of your club, and your personal UKA registration number. This is your own individual UKA number, not the number for your club, and not any local membership number your club may have given you.

QUESTION. Why can I not register by post or telephone?

ANSWER.
The objective of the event is to raise as much money as possible for charity. It is entirely organised by unpaid volunteers, and for us, it is most cost-effective and time-efficient to have online entry only.

QUESTION. I've missed the on-line application. Can I get in any other way?

ANSWER.
Sorry but no. The only chance is to substitute for someone who has already entered but who now cannot run or you put your name on the waiting list.

The former is done by the original entrant returning to the entry system and using their personal password to change their entry details for yours. It's up to you to make any financial transaction between yourselves. This substitution will only be possible until 3oth April when the data will be locked and transferred to Jand Results for despatch of timing chip, race number etc.

The waiting list will enable us to contact potential runners if an existing entrant cancels. You will then have 24 hours to confirm your entry or we will move on to the next on the list.

It would also helps us immensely if you would put your details on the waiting list, firstly, so we can contact you as soon as the entries for the 2011 run open so you don't miss out, and secondly, to assess the level of unmet demand so we can perhaps expand numbers appropriately for 2011.

MY APPLICATION

QUESTION. Have you received my application?

ANSWER.
You will receive a confirmation email as soon as you have completed your entry. This email includes links that enable you to review all the details you have entered. You can also click the List of Runners link on the main web site. Your name will appear on that list as soon as you have entered.

If your name is on the list of runners, but you have not had a confirmation email, then this means you probably entered your email address incorrectly, and we have sent the confirmation to the wrong place. Please contact the organisers.

If your name is not on the list of runners and you have not had a confirmation email then your entry is incomplete. Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied. Please complete the application, including payment.

If you have forgotten your password, then use the “Forgot Your Password?” link and the system will send you a new one.

QUESTION. Can I register another person and make a single payment to cover us both?

ANSWER.
YES! When you have completed your application, there is a button to allow "Add another person", which you can click before going into the payment page. Please make sure you have all details to hand for each extra person, including their email addresses and dates of birth. Each extra person you register will then get their own confirmation email.

MY ADDRESS

QUESTION. How do I change details of my address?

ANSWER.
Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied, and make the changes to your address.

If you have forgotten the password, then use the “Forgot Your Password?” link and the system will send you a new one.

You will only be able to change your address up until the end of April, after that we will be preparing packs and sending them out. If your address changes after the end of April please make your own arrangements to have your post forwarded.

QUESTION. How do I change details of my e-mail address?

ANSWER.
Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied, and make the changes to your e-mail address.

If you have forgotten the password, then use the “Forgot Your Password?” link and the system will send you a new one.

If you have forgotton the email address you entered with (or think you may have entered it incorrectly, in which case you will not have had a confirmation back), then please contact the organisers.

RUNNING THE RACE

QUESTION. Can I push a running pushchair/stroller in the race?

ANSWER.
With 3000 runners safety is an important issue, however, whilst we have some serious runners, we welcome everyone so we will accept runners with pushchairs, prams etc but ask that they start at the back of the pack to reduce the risk of injury at the start.

We also ask that proper regard is had for runners, spectators, cyclists, vehicles en route to the finish.

Provided you recognise these issues and endeavour to be aware of the potential danger then we will be happy to see you in the race.

RUNNING AS A TEAM

QUESTION. What is the team competition?

ANSWER.
The team competition is for teams of 4 or more people. Fastest four to count. There is no extra charge for this, so if you know a few other people who are taking part why not register as a team to make it more fun?

QUESTION. How do we register as team?

ANSWER.
Simply enter your team name in the relevant box on the registration form. NOTE Please make sure your team members all enter the team name in exactly the same way.

QUESTION. I registered on my own, but now want to be part of a team.

ANSWER.
Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied, and make the changes to your team name.

NOTE Please make sure you enter the team name in exactly the same way as the others in your team.

MY ATHLETICS/RUNNING CLUB MEMBERSHIP
QUESTION. I have already registered for the Run. Can I add or withdraw details of my membership of an athletics club or running club?

ANSWER.
Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied, and make the changes to your club membership details.

RACE PACK

QUESTION. What will I receive in my Race Pack?

ANSWER.
A Race Pack contains your Race Number, an ankle tag (which is used to measure the time it takes you to complete the Run), entry tickets for Kenilworth Castle, and information about sponsors. Joining Instruction (full details of what to do on the day) will be emailed to you, and will also be available for download from this web site.

QUESTION. When will I receive my Race Pack?

ANSWER.
You will receive your Race Pack approximately three weeks before the Run.

QUESTION. How do I change details of the address to which my Race Pack is to be delivered?

ANSWER.
Log back in to system, using the e-mail address and the password, which you chose when you applied, and make the changes to your address.

If you have forgotten the password, then use the “Forgot Your Password?” link and the system will send you a new one.

You will only be able to change your address up until the end of April, after that we will be preparing packs and sending them out. If your address changes after the end of April please make your own arrangements to have your post forwarded.

MY REGISTRATION FEE

QUESTION. I have registered and paid, but cannot attend the Run. Will you refund my registration fee?

ANSWER.
Registration fees are not refundable, you can, however, transfer your registration to someone else via the substitution process, but only until the end of April, after which substitutions will not be allowed. (This is due to the need to start preparing and sending out race packs.)
